  • Once your registration has been processed, we’ll send your FREE thank you gift. Please allow up to 6 weeks for your FREE gift* to arrive.

I am guessing the free gift is a collectors stamp set.

    • !remindme

Almost four weeks now and counting up to six weeks!

      The anticipation increases

Concerning seeing only a couple of confirmations among the the number of comments saying they never received anything from the previous freebies deals… (trepidation to dodgy remarks rearing their head again)

      • I got my freebie. A sheet of garden themed stamps and a small led light to use on the stamps. Got it about a week ago.

    Seems a bit dodgy/scam

    A different philatelic society?

    copy pasta October 2019?

Are they allowed to use "Australia Post" on this website.
It looks like you tried to imperfectly copy the official website into your theme.

Official website with a category of collectables is here https://auspost.com.au/shop/collectables

Not sure what this "Community" is

(profanity), looks like they got my details

    • -2

Seeing no reference to this secondary website from the official website itself

Just lots of cloned backlinks from this philatelic secondary website to the official

      • +1

I hope they take this down soon, it'll catch a lot of people off guard. They've done a good job with the fake website, looks real.

Scroll down to the bottom of the page on the URL you posted that takes you to the below:

      https://australiapostcollectables.com.au/

From that I assume this is a genuine deal/page. Might be worth investigating these things before negging them.

      • The investigation was still in progress ! - looked dodgy so better to be safe than sorry on first impressions

The low quality of the content and imperfections on the website is peculiar for an official affiliate

The domain registration looks valid at the moment

The comments are useful to elicit affirmative replies such as yours and provide more assurance

      • Fair point, implementation felt scammy though. Thanks for the info, am now shitting my pants much less.

        • +1

          Sooo legit ?

    • It's not a scam, it's at the bottom of the official site under the quick links - collectables. At the bottom of that link is the join now button.

  • +2

Sorry but I feel people are jumping the gun to neg this purely based off "speculation".

There is a "Learn More" link on the bottom of the official Aus. Post page:

    https://auspost.com.au/shop/collectables

    "Australia Post Collectables
Read about the latest stamp issues and collections with our centralised hub for all stamp collectors and philatelic enthusiasts."

From that it takes you to this link URL:

    https://australiapostcollectables.com.au/

From that you can navigate to the sign up page where this deal has come from. I don't believe this is a scam nor deserves to be downvoted.

    • No need to be sorry

That button reassures me enough to punt using the form for this freebie

Thanks for finding that single link

Discussion intended to find more information which subsequently followed the comment on the official website category link

The other information on the page and theme still feels like low quality that I would not normally associate with the official brand
( which would be enough to be wary of on listing/accounts on reselling platforms like eBay or Amazon )

It is a bit strange that the BJL90 Ozbargain account is made 15 minutes before negging and commenting this - smells like sockpuppeting or a true philatelic enthusiast

Though there is sufficient information for me to stop following for now.

I would warrant that comments providing information were also undeserving of unexplained neg votes judging by the number that is changing…

      • +2

Yeah to be honest I forgot my previous login which was Bynum55 and didn't have access to my email address anymore. However I felt I could add value to this when browsing through the deals, as I have seen some signage in Aus Post stores promoting the forum. Certainly understand the scepticism behind the new account though - I quickly signed in through my FB acct.

Are "Animals and Nature" and "Flora and Fauna" not the same thing? Under interests

I got this as I was a member of the old community. I got free stamps, which I used. They also have a birthday treat every year, one was a $10 voucher. To clarify I joined the old community and got free stamps, They have asked us to join this new community and receive a free gift.

I got that deal! They were pretty neat stamps. Pretty sure I lost them before ever having the need to send a letter.

      • +1

Me too! I needed stamps at one point but could not bear to split up the stamp collection, so they are still in tact.

    • +2

Maybe you didn't miss anything. I joined, got the email and then silence.

  • +1

I signed up for the last one and received the same email and it says you'll get a gift if you change over to the new Collectors Club but when I tried to do that it said I already have an account so have no idea how to access to free gift.

    • Same situation as me. Got the email but went to sign up and said I already had an account

      • Received another email today apologizing for the first email that was sent in error. no freebies for us

        • yeah got the email too. bummer

  • +1

I've signed up before and never got anything.

    • +1

Yeah, same. And I've been receiving the Stamp Bulletin for almost decades! Will try again, I guess!
