Came across (and purchased) this after the last lot of weekly deals passed - decent price for a small form factor pc for those with limited space (30cmx30cmx10cm).

I upgraded to the Ultrasharp U2212H 21.5" Monitor for an extra $77.70 :)

Specs:
• 2nd Generation Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2400 Processor (3.10GHz,6MB)
• Intel(R) H61 Express Chipset
• 4GB (1x4GB) Non-ECC DDR3 1333MHz SDRAM Memory
• 500GB 7200 RPM 3.5" SATA Hard Drive
• 1GB AMD RADEON HD 6450
• DELL E2011H 20"W HD Monitor with WLED
• 8X Max Slimline DVD+/-RW
• 3 Yrs Next Business Day Onsite Service

They also have $400 off an Optiplex 990 but it doesn't seem as good a deal seeing as you get the graphics card and monitor thrown in on the 390 for $50 extra. Depends if you care about the Q67 chipset I guess.

The 3 Yrs Next Business Day Onsite Service is the big selling point here, you should probably mention it.

    • Not sure everyone else' experience, but Dell's NBD onsite service is one important reason i bought Dell laptop and I am pretty happy with it so far. I consider Dell's product is generally good value (esp on sale) when you factor that service in.

      • this all sounds good but i found dell techs to be the most incompetant out of enterprise level companies like HP and Lenovo

you're also more likely to need a dell tech out of those three as well…

        • Try Acer, the tards I was sent in 2005 is the same reason I haven't dealt with them since.

    • I was thinking about that while I was writing up the deal, but then I promptly forgot it - added it now!

  • Good deal including the warranty and monitor, will need to upgrade the video card to play the latest games on a high quality setting.

Great for anyone that doesn't know much about PC's.

  • Pay no attention to the inflated 'normal ' price. The 'discounted' price is about the normal price for similar specs PCs. The included graphics card is low-end; there's only 4Gb of RAM, no blu-ray writer or SSD but comes with OS, monitor and 3yrs NBD warranty .

    • Yeah, you can get something similar built at MSY for ~$700-$800. It's nothing special. The only selling point is the 3 year NBD, IMO, and even then you're paying $150-$250 for that. Making it a sort of normal price. Which is why I haven't positived.

      • Yes, but try getting it in a 30x30x10cm package for that price.

And try getting any sort of warranty support with MSY too!

        • You could happily fit an Antec NSK1480 or Minuet 350 into that price.

I did mention the warranty. Didn't I? A couple of times I think. But thanks for the reminder?

  • Overall pretty decent build :) + to 3 years

  • If you don't mind one year warranty then you can save more by purchasing from the Dell Factory Outlet.

    • yeah i wouldn't bother with extended warranty on a plain desktop… if something goes bang you can get parts from msy or whatever

for a laptop its a different story

for a performance desktop its worth considering since they might have $500 video cards in it… but this isn't a performance machine so…
