Superloop - Getting a Second "6 Month Discount" Deal

I am close to finishing a 6 month discount with Superloop. It's a 100/20 plan with a $15 discount for 6 months (and I got a free speed upgrade to 250/20 for 3 months). When I log into the Superloop members area to change plan, it is possible for me to go to a higher speed (ie 250/25 or 1000/50 )and get another 6 month discount. Seems a bit like double-dipping - anyone know if this is correct?

  • You won't get the discount by changing plan.

  • I've tried this with them and they just refuse, you won't get the 6 months adjustment again - unless some other conditions/deals are coming.

    • Can you blame them?

      • No not really

Make sure to put your referral code on your OzB account.
I've been getting referral discounts for almost 6 months now :)

    • Thanks for the tip!

Another option would be to change over to ABB for their 6 month discount https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/659152

    • I know, my thoughts exactly! I started with ABB and switched to SL for the better deal, so now I'll probably go back to ABB! (Edit: that won't work for me unfortunately, as I was with ABB 5.5 months ago.)

      • so wait one more month before churning?

or churn to another provider that lets you do daily billing, like Launtel… let me know if you want a ref code…

        • The ABB special finishes on 31st October though…

          • @capnstoobie: Going off previous years there will be ISP deals for Black Friday and Cyber Monday in late November.

  • Thanks for the feedback. Seems a bit misleading when the offer seems to be available in my "members" area.

    • It’s in there because you are still eligible for the discount now. It won’t be there after the 6 months are finished. That is you get the discount on whatever plan you are on, but when 6 months finish from the first signup, the discount goes.

It’s not misleading, it’s just not what you would hope for.

      • I think I see now - so if I switched now I would get the discount on the new plan for (say) half a month, and then when my 6 months ticked over the discount would disappear.

  • I just called and asked is there any retention deals (1300 558 406 call during non peak Call centre in South Aust).
I was offered $20 off for the next 6 Months. Unlimited 250down 50 up $89

I can confirm this but I got $15 instead so my 250/25 plan would've been $84.95

However I chose not to continue since I'm getting 2 months free from Swoop Internet 1000/50

I feel bad for leaving since superloop has been very good, but can't beat free internet

  • Fyi (and mainly for for Google searches) I've been give a phone number of 02 9138 7948 for the super loop retentions team.

  • If anyone's still manages to read this comment - I called SL to inquire about cancellation and I was told off by "Amanda" because "You used up all your referral benefits". When I pointed to her the fallacy in her logic of me not getting a discount for sending more business their way, she offered me either a $10 off for 6 months no lock in or $10 off for 12 months no lock in.
