The other URL for it, mentions limit 2 per customer

    • I wonder if officeworks will beat that price by 5%?

      • Officeworks online is out of stock so no luck there. Maybe try instore.

  • +2

Great find. Cheapest price i could find was $127. Just bought one.

  • Great price! Cheaper than Aldi specials.
3 years of map updates included

  • I was just about to buy a Melways, but this will do the trick !

  • 3 Years Map updates sounds reasonable (from link's reviews).

  • Where does it say 3 years map upgrades for free, Navman have been known to only do free upgrades if you purchase the unit from a certain time, etc.

  • +1

$96 in SCA catalogue that starts today… Good price op..

  • was looking for a cheap gps, miss out on dicksmith garmin nuvi 30.
Just bought 2, one for me, one as a birthday present for my friend.

  • perfect! almost bought on the garmin nuvi 30 deal (bought 1 for a friend, was so close to buying one for myself) but i decided that GPS was too big. 3.5" is perfect, i dont want a huge thing to store and be on my dash, add-on GPS' look ugly so i prefer them out of the way

  • I also missed out on the Nuvi 30 at DSE, sadly.

Just ordered this one. The reviews are mixed and I haven't seen anything to support the claim of "3 years free map updates" either, but at that price its cheaper than a Melways and a country/rural directory. HN declined both my cred cards, even though there was plenty of cash in the accounts - possibly a glitch in their payment system - but paypal worked fine. Now someone from HN apparently calls me when its ready to be collected.

    • Picked up this afternoon. Took a little while as they couldn't access their order system for some reason and I had to wait a good 15 minutes while they rang around trying to verify the order.

It is a good little unit for the price. Would be nicer if the interface was more responsive and if it powered on and off with the car, but neither of those things are a real annoyance when you consider it cost 30% less than even a cheapie GPS. You get a 30 day map guarantee - if a new map is released up to 30 days from the date of purchase you get that update for free - but no 3 years of free maps I'm afraid.

  • Perfect!

  • Thanks, just bought 2!

    http://www.navman.com.au/ezy2years/

No 3 years of free map updates yet. Must be purchased between 24/3/2012 - 30/9/2012.

  • I am travelling to NZ soon. Does anyone kno if this GPS comes with preloaded Kiwi Maps.
    Thanks

    • No only Australia included for navman. You can purchase New Zealand separately for $99

      http://www.navmanstores.com.au/Downloadable%20Mapping/EZY15/…

Or buy a Garmin that includes Australia and New Zealand as standard on all new GPS. Autumn Maps also available for Navman.

Details on 3years free map dates as stated earlier. Must purchase any new Navman EZY15, EZY30, EZY40 or EZY45 car GPS system between 24th March and 30th September 2012. So I'd either wait 2 days or see if Harvey Norman can post date purchase date.

Damn, I already bought mine online….though I think you're only given the Tax invoice when you pick it up….I guess I could 2 days to pick it up on the 24th, hopfully the invoice will be dated that day then. Or if that doesn't work I'll just speak to my friend Black Beard and Captain Hook who are currently anchored in the bay. See if they can help me with any deals to update my maps….. ;-D

        • -1

I was thinking of using your friends to help out ;) What stuff can they generally do?

        • I borrowed a Navman recently and tried to find a map update for the owner before returning it. Short story is, it was impossible for Navman. The only way was to buy the map. Now if this applies still to THIS model, I don't know… but someone expecting to download a "free" map/speed camera update should research that first before buying.

    • When Aldi ones come on sale, includes NZ maps for about same price as this one.

  • Just bought one with pick up from the Springvale store. Hopefully it all goes well.

  • Excellent buy at that price. Picked one up for the family car.

I like the smaller size as we won't have it on the dash normally. It will spend a bit of time locked away in one of the compartments for use when needed (infrequent).

  • Pity no Mac OS X support. Oh well…

  • When is says no Mac Support…does it need a computer? Or is it ready to go out of the box?

I ordered one and don't have a PC.

    • should work out of the box but will require software to update maps

    • It's ready to go out of the box, thankfully. In fact only takes about 3 minutes from cracking the shrinkwrap to seeing the map. You do need a Windows PC to run the Navdesk software to get map updates. Since most users are only likely to do that once every year or so, you can probably use a work or friend's PC when the time comes.

  • Was advised the email is what is considered as the receipt, it has todays date on it

    picked item up today
put details in on 3yr map offer anyway and see what happens
    http://www.navman.com.au/ezy2years/

  • +2

The fact that we miss out on the 3 years of maps because of a few days is pretty rubbish.

    • This is a bit pessimistic but I wonder if it's a deliberate plan? They clean out heaps of stock of this, the cheapest model and people will be more willing to buy a pricier model when the 3 year map offer is on.
It just such a strange coincidence that it's a 48hr deal just before the offer starts on the 24th :)

  • Do store pick up but don't get it till the 24th, will that work ?

    • the invoice is sent to you after they pack it. I already have mine
emailed with todays date and ready to pick up today

      • +2

hmmmm I purchased mine online and haven't received the "Pick up now" email. Also says Tax Invoice sent separately…maybe someone's aware of this and is holding off for a few days. :D (Well I can dream can't I)

    • +1

Do they accept bank deposit? Generally, it may take up to 3 days for the payment to clear.
(I am half joking by the way)

  • +1

The twitter link states 48 hour sale, do we know when that started ?

  • I am tempted to get this, is there much of an advantage in getting the more expensive high end tomtoms if i dont use bluetooth / radio and all those kinds of features?

    • +1

Depends on use. We hardly ever have need for satnav so I wouldn't go out and spend a few hundred dols on one with a larger screen or more features.

Something small that can easily be locked away in glovebox - and is under $50 is right up our alley.

Only you know if you're in the same alley lonewolf! I'm the one wearing a belt with a shiny new 3.5" SatNav stuck to it!

    • TomTom - the main advantage of it is actually its routing and voice guidance. I found TomTom tends to select a slightly better route (compared to Navman). The voice guidance is more informative. Basically, instead of "Turn left at ABC street", TomTom would say "Turn left at ABC street and keep left" - because later on it knows you will need to turn left so might as well start prepare in advance.

However, if you know your way, a human can come up with a much better route pretty much most of the time.

      • Yeah I was always told Tomtoms have the best routing.

  • Just picked mine up, ordered this morning and got a call about 3hrs later to come and grab it. Good cheap little unit. A bit slow when using the menus but perfect for infrequent use.

Bought one around 2pm today at Fountain Gate Harvey Norman. They didn't have it in their system yet but I told the woman at the counter of the Ozbargain post and her manager input it into the system. Great price, thanks for posting this up, just got my new car on the weekend so it's perfect timing!

  • Has anyone tried running MioPocket on this yet? http://netfresco.com/MioPocket/
According to Wikipedia the EZY series run "SmartST 7" which is WinCE 6.0 based so I'm not going to hold my breath.

  • Got my 2 delivered to work today. Too easy, and well priced if you're after a cheap but quality GPS.

  • price back to normal.

  • hi guys

if anyone has ordered online and choose to pick up instore and haven't yet you could be able to get the 3 years free maps

i intentionally waited til today ( 24th ) to pick it up

i just picked up my navman in store at harvey norman for $48.80 and asked them to print the receipt dated today …

they just printed out a new invoice with paid on it, they did ask for payment but mentioned i paid for it online and they were fine with it. may depend on the person you get at the store too.

so now i have the cheap gps with 3 years of map updates :)

    thnaks harvey!

    • Did you take the email invoice with you though. I still haven't picked up mine yet.

      • yeh i took the email invoice and they just created a new one on their system, little bit messy for them , took about an extra 2 minutes probably, but it wasnt busy

        • Actually now that i remember i know someone who works in my local HN. I might go to them and see if they can reissue one for me.

    • yes they will do it ,spoke to the guy when he called me and said pick it up today and we will re invoice
with todays date .so just got back and all is good now have 3 years of map updates bargain

    • Thank you so much for the advice. Got my invoice reissued as well. Now to claim the 3 year free map. Best bargain ever.

      • Hi justhooked and rack - I tried this is my store but they said they can not issue me with an invoice from the store as it was an online order.

I spoke to a staff member and again to the department manager and they both said they could not issue me an invoice from the store as it did not go via their till system.

Even when I said I am aware people have had this done from other stores he still said it can not be done.

I said I needed an invoice dated Saturday (day I collected it) or later and the only suggestion he had has to contact the online stores.

Either of you have an idea what I can aks my store to do that your store was able to do ?

        • Mate i just went showed them the email invoice. I asked the guy in my very nice voice if he could reprint me an invoice with todays date and he said no probs. Just went into the system and edited it. Invoice still says online sale but with todays date on it.

        • Thanks for the reply rak - How you got your invoice was how I had hoped things to pan out !

I was nothing but polite and friendly but after pleading with them they were insistent they could not do it. The manager then went on to say the only invoice in the system was between them and the online store part of the business.

I said that would do but he said as it does not have my name on it he can not give it to me. I even told him to black the name out but he refused :-(

Will email the online store quoting his name but not holding my breath.

        • same as rack said my store had no issue when asked.hope you can get it sorted

    • Your mileage may vary.

I picked mine up this morning and was told I couldn't get an invoice with today's date. (translated: she didnt know how to :-) )

After reading these comments I went back and grabbed a guy from the tech support desk who got approval from someone higher up to take it to the sales desk and effectively refund and then reissue the same stock.

      • well done. Where there's a will there's a way.

  • ..

  • expaired ???

  • didnt mark the date it go expair…. any way wait for aldi then….

  • I got Miopocket running. Its not perfect but it has potential.
    http://oi43.tinypic.com/2gxiqux.jpg

Here are the steps I took. I believe it's safe and reversible but do this at your own risk.
    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/66529

    • Thanks for feeding back on your testing but what's the point if you lose satnav functionality!?

      • I agree but it's a starting point tinkering with the device a bit.

I since got 'My Flash Disk\Program Files\Navman\SmartST_CE\SmartST_CE.exe' to launch ok but haven't found a way to make a nice icon for it.

Where it might come in handy is that you can get other GPS software working like TomTom, Garmin, etc (provided of course you own them).

        • Let us know how you fare with it.

It's actually a great little GPS - the verbal prompts are so good you barely have to ever look at the screen. Got a suprise yesterday when it said something like, "in 200m turn left into White Street, just before the school".

  • picked up mine today. anyone know if firmware updates will fix the lag issue?

    • i did mine today. It still lags but not as bad.

  • Dam, missed it :(

  • I've noticed there are a lot of Ezy15 for sale on Ebay and Gumtree. :)

  • What's with the 30 day map guarantee.
When I connect to Navdesk and the Navman server it notes there's a new map but then wants me to put in a reg code.
I thought it was supposed to note that it's a new unit and update my maps given there's a newer version out than shipped with the device??
Might have to contact Navman this week.

  • all good got the free map updates 1st one avaliable now
