[Unobtainable Deal] Extra $15 off (or 98% off Items < $15) e.g. Ethernet Cable $0.07 Delivered (OOS) @ Harris Technology eBay

Moved to Forum: Original Link

Greetings everyone, not exactly sure why but as identified in the Ryzen 9 Deal, it seems as though Harris Technology have a coupon which automatically applies on their store which is $15 off with no minimum spend.

However for items under $15, the discount is 98%, therefore there are items such as ethernet cables which are $0.07 delivered. But for items over $15, it applies the full $15 discount.

NOTE: For eBay Plus members, the eBay Plus express shipping comes up as default, make sure to remove this at checkout and change it to free normal shipping otherwise it will charge $15 delivery.

As always, enjoy :)

Mod 11/11 - Order cancellation email sent 7/11, refunds/cancellations via eBay are also coming through in the past days.

Email from HT 7/11:

Dear Customer,

We are writing to you to advise you that a mistake was made by one of our staff members when offering an eBay coupon to one individual customer on 3 November.

Due to inexperience, the $15 coupon was made public and was shared across Ozbargain, when it was originally intended for private use by one person.

We are very sorry for the mistake. Unfortunately, we are unable to fulfill the unexpected orders we received therefore the order/s will be cancelled. We value you as a customer, and will offer you a coupon of $15 for a minimum spend of $100. We hope this good-will gesture is satisfactory to you and we look forward to servicing you again soon.

COUPON: 28QNXRDW7ZDQTCL
Please note: This coupon is for your private use, once only valid from 6-November-21 until 31-December-21

Email from eBay:

We are sorry to let you know that harristechnologyaustralia cancelled your order and mentioned the cancellation reason as 'Something was wrong with the buyer's delivery address.'

You received a refund AU $X.XX back to your original payment method, you don't need to do anything else. It may take 3 to 5 business days for the refund to be completed.

Why is a technology store selling Emery board lol

  • +8

Harris Technology is going to have a fun time cancelling all these orders tomorrow

    • Thats fine. eBay may issue a free $15 voucher for the farce.

      • -3

or worse. order is cancelled and ebay bans your account!

        • +4

don't shoot the messenger, it's happened before.

          • @ironworthy: This is madness!

            • +1

@FireRunner: another seller of similar caliber was selling a $300 keyboard for like $3.

All were cancelled, but they used the "Buyer cancelled' excuse to ebay, which is false.

              • @dbmitch: eBay gets non-payers all the time, why would they ban a buyer for "cancelling" once

                • @FireRunner: not the buyer, the seller.

                  • @dbmitch: Assume you mean this 'deal', looks like ozziesolutions is still operating if you follow the original link
Also, the way ironworthy described it, it sounds like the buyer got banned and I'm interested to know when that happened

                    • +2

@FireRunner: I'd glad they are still going, i expressed my displeasure in that post long ago regarding how insane it was that people actually complained their orders got cancelled and reported the seller. There was no way in hell they were getting it.

                      • +2

@dbmitch: Well seller has the right to cancel.
And the buyers have the right to complain about canceled orders.

                        All seems fine

  • Oh look, a hot glue gun. Been thinkin of getting one for some crafts. How convenient…if it works.

    • I was looking at the same thing. 10W looks pretty pathetic, but correct me if i'm wrong.

      • +1

I have a 10W one I got a while back. It works great and gets extremely hot very quick. Not as bad as it seems

        • Alright, you sold me.

I did have a (most likely) 10W one a whiile ago, and it seemed to do the job well enough. Was just unsure whether my old one was higher wattage or the same as this one.

  • Thanks OP. Ordered. Let’s see and wait if a cancellation email comes

  • +7

I'm glad there's a $15 off code as most of their stuff seems quite overpriced.

  • +6

Grabbed a Tenda 5-port gigabit switch for $8ish, so that's not bad. If it comes.

  • Is HT turning into Kogan?

    • Tell me about it, it’s like Imagine mSy selling i.e gardening accessories lol

  • "Limit 1 per buyer." Anyone can confirm?

    • +3

it was multiple use but seems not working anymore

      • +3

It takes a few minutes for eBay's payment processor to complete the transaction. eBay's system doesn't seem to mark this single use coupon as redeemed until the first transaction finishes processing, during which people are placing multiple orders. It's not rejecting the subsequent orders either for some reason, giving the impression it's multiple use.

The more people abuse this the less hope of any of these orders being honoured.

Fair warning eBay anecdotally bans users now for creating multiple accounts to abuse promos.

Ebay Plus shipping coming up as free for express and $15 still deducts.
Might Depend on Item at checkout ??

  • +1

sweet, ordered 36 box cutters for $4.85

  • +2

i guess you can use 2x times?

    • +4

I was able to use it 4 times. Code's vanished for me since when trying to checkout other products.

  • Can be used multiple times

  • +1

    Not working Anymore?

    • +2

Still working for me on a second account, guest checkout works too.

      • +1

        Worked on the 1st item,
then tried on the 2nd (after seeing comments) and not working now

        • I think it's once per account.

          • +1

@ballistykx: Bought 3 items already so not single use. However almost certain that they're going to cancel all orders

            • @Rockhard: Strange that it doesn't work for me after my first purchase, I can see that it says 1 per account.

              • +3

@ballistykx: You have to be fast.

Can be used multiple times only while your first payment is still pending. Once that payment is confirmed the coupon can't be applied anymore.

                • @HomeAlone: If only I had read your comment sooner

                  • +1

@Blitzfx: You can use guest checkout.

                    • Sign out of your account
                    • Go to whatever listing/item you want to buy
                    • Buy It Now
                    • Check out as a guest
            • @Rockhard: Same here, bought two items and both got $15 coupon applied… !

        • I got 4 or 5 items before it stopped working for me.

    • Worked just fine for me just now

i will leave the joy to all you guys. not ordering anything, i don't need anything from this seller.

    • Been on the site for too long? haha

  • Only learned the other day that HT is not with OW anymore (Wesfarmers). Not that it matters, just news (old news).

  • +2
  • Champ OP 3 a/c X 3 items each in the range of $13- $18 for peanuts :)

  • Managed to sneak in an order - hopefully it doesn't get cancelled because I desperately need a wifi range extender for the bedroom…

    • +1

Wifi range extender sucks. Get a mesh network?

      • I did think about getting a Google mesh network, but I realistically only need signal to cover one room and don't really require much speed (just for usage on a mobile device)

        • +2

My personal experience with wifi extender is pretty bad, it connects, wifi strength looks strong, but nothing loads. It just loads and loads and loads.

Changing the wifi extender into its own SSID address broadcast helped but then it was annoying to change between two WiFi networks.

Just my personal experience, and I tried I think a few. This was ages ago before mesh network was a thing. Maybe tech in the wifi extender world has improved!

          • @lawyerz: Cheers for the heads-up regardless!

I don't have high hopes for the quality, but as long as it functions as intended (as the reviews seem to suggest), I'll be proper happy :)

          • @lawyerz: My guess is you could have been maxxing out at the router at the number of users on the wifi rather than the signal strength?

My home nbn went to shyte when the whole city was locked at home and basically unusable

  • Still worked for the antivirus

  • +2

    Cant find anything to buy!!!!!!

  • no idea what is the limit of usage

  • My god they sell alot of junk. Can't find anything to buy

  • +2

Going to be cancelled since Harris Tech is a publicly listed company lol.
