Antec NeoECO ZEN 500W PSU $69, Intel Core i3-10100F $99 + Delivery ($0 in-Store Pickup) + Surcharge @ Mwave

40

Decent 500W power supply for the price, don't think there's better.

Intel Core i3 10100F Quad Core LGA 1200 3.60GHz CPU Processor $99

Best price on this CPU in a while, would get as motherboards are also cheap.

Would be an insane price if it was the shitty F variant which requires a DGPU

I mean if you want a dirt cheap gaming PC then it's okay. Kinda cancelled out with high GPU prices.
I just built a cheap 1080P esports gaming PC with this and a spare 2060 lying around. PC only cost $300ish (not including GPU) and it's the perfect multimedia + light gaming PC

Planning to retire my 4c4t core i5-4460, already have a 780 which will pair very well!

    • good for a budget gaming pc

Similar in performance to an i7-7700.

        Someone's watched Gamers Nexus? ;)

      • Outperforms my 4790k at around half the power… pretty hilarious.

    • Get an antec product and you can have free shipping.

    • Is it compatible with Windows 11?
      Thanks

    • Amazon price matched but only has 2 in stock

    • My OC'd 3570K from 2013 gets the same score as this CPU with just 4 threads and it was bottlenecking my GTX 1080. But good enough for normal use. If I am building a PC today, I wouldnt choose anything less than 6 cores. That extra money is probably worth it few years down the line.

      • Being a teen, I'm actually quite impatient haha. I'll probably sell this at the end of 2022 and get a 10400f.

  • I could find decidedly little on this particular one, but did dig up a mostly comprehensive review.

The TLDR is "it's fine, reasonable load performance, fairly well built with some reputable components".

Definitely fine for a cheap iGPU build. If you're pairing with a $800+ gpu, it begs the question. Are you not better off with a $100-$120 A tier PSU with 10 year warranty?

    • I would use this for anything under a 2070 level gpu I guess

      • But I mean an extra $60 on a psu, if you're rocking a $1000+ gpu?

If you're using a high power intel CPU that could pull >200W with a 2070 you could run out of space on this psu.

Is it likely to be a problem? Probably not. This definitely seems like a solid buy! I'm just putting in my usual $0.02 for bumping up quality haha

        • Yeah, it's fine, good discussion. This month actually seems to offer good sales from Mwave.

        • likely to be a problem? Probably not

Depends what you mean by problem.

I have an i5-8500K that loses 200Mhz overclock when running a cheap CX500 PSU vs. tier 1. (4.9 vs 5.1)

Presumably this is a better PSU though.

  • Antec is a crappy brand now. They have gone down hill after failing their water cooling parts.

    • They still sell some high end stuff. Have you see. Their signature series PSU’s?

    • yea just had to warranty a 2 year old HCG 750w - random shutdowns
To be fair warranty was pain free (and getting a refund due to no availability at the moment)

But id much prefer to buy high tier PSUs now, so often the cause of instability etc
