Very similar, I was catch now Amaysim very very similar

        • can i ask where abouts you use your phone?

  • Anyone received theirs yet?
Order within the first hour of this being posted sim is expiring next week (Friday) and its a Thursday

    • yea got mine in the post yesterday !

  • This is really tempting. But I've used optus before. The connection is no where near as strong as telstra. I would rather pay a bit extra for boost. Just waiting for some good black friday deals.

    • +1

How do you go from boost to boost though

  • What's a good port out/in option at the moment? Any restrictions with Catch Connect for returning customers?

  • I'm in Aussie Broadband now, which use Optus and the reception is terrible in my area. I should probably avoid this but it's sooo tempting

    Hi Guys
Can someone please confirm me are you able to make Conferance calls with catch connect sim ?

    Thanks

  • Hi guys, new to this kind of deal and buying sims in Australia…I just ordered and I noticed that it says "and you get to keep your number" in the blurb above, was I meant to nominate my number before buying or I nominate my number to port once I receive my sim?
    Thanks for the help.

Porting means bringing your existing number across to the new provider. You do this during the activation process once you have received your SIM. This is when you enter the existing mobile number and your details. These details must match exactly. Otherwise, the porting process will fail.

Bought this SIM and unfortunately my mobile number has now been stuck in porting for days. The negative of being unable to make or receive phone calls on your number far outweighs the positive of a cheap price. No way to back out of the porting process. This issue seems common https://www.productreview.com.au/listings/catch-connect

    • Were you porting from another Optus provider? Or another provider?

  • I'm a newbie sim sl*t and need advice please …

    (1) Does Catch have a min time I need to be out of their service to be considered a "new" customer?

    (2) Do i need to wait for the new sim to be received in the mail, or can i use a recently expired catch sim? As I have a catch sim i ported out of 8 days ago. My prior 3mth catch plan expired 12 Nov. Obviously, should I buy this, I would not need to activate until Dec 13 (when current Boost 1mth sim expires)

Any help will be muchly appreciated

    quality is only 1?

    • one per transaction but you can have multiple transactions I bought 2 on my account.

  • have ordered n received email that despatch had been delayed, at least they keep customer in the loop. so just letting u know here to be aware of the potential delay if u r planning to port over on a certain date.

    • I got the delayed email after I received the sims in the mail…

    • received in the mail today, without an email advising they hv sent it. still within reasonable delivery time i feel.

  • +1

If you are an existing customer how long do you have to be ported out to be reconsidered a new customer?

  • -1

I just go a delay email. I am really worries as my contract is ending on the 23rd Dec

  • -3

    Do NOT buy this deal.

Just go off a phone call with Catch.com.au regarding the delay.

They do NOT know when they can ship it, just your typical frustrating corporate response that does not provide any information. Basically Catch does NOT care if your contracting is ending soon and you need the sim ASAP.

You are NOT able to cancel your order after place it, even before shipping or dispatch even after delay on their part, so I am unable to cancel and buy from another vendor as I need a sim card urgently as my contract is ending soon.

I have no idea what I am going to do now.

My contract is up, I don't know what catch will dispatch the sim and I can not cancel. This is ridiculous.

Does anyone know if I can get a refund after I receive the sim card?

I am thinking about getting the kogan deal

    • +3

not sure wat is your current contract but if it's prepaid, even after credit expired, u can still receive calls, just cannot make outgoing calls n no data…if it's with kogan, u hv up to 20days before the number becomes inactive.

  • Just started my port from Boost to Catch. In hindsight maybe doing this at 2.20am isn't the best time to do it. Fingers crossed this is going to be painless.
"Porting days are Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm (AEST) and 10am to 6pm Saturdays"

    • Received a notification of the port on my boost sim at 7.30am. Service changed to unprovisioned. Changed sim over to catch and good to go. Speeds are better boost 69.9/2.72 catch 220/14.2.

      • Wow - that's a massive speed difference. I am looking to move from Boost also and will probably buy this today and activate within 30 days (my Boost doesn't expire until mid January)

        • +1

My old boost plan expired late Jan too but for the amount I saved $109 vs $229. I was willing to lose the 49 days left

          • +1

@n14pulsarq: I just ported (2 weeks before boost finished) and went from Boost 21.2/4.65 to Catch 216/22.5 - Very happy with this.

Porting went smoothly for my parents 2 x SIMs. Amaysim to Catch (Optus to Optus). Took about 5 mins or so for the Amaysim SIM to show SOS only and then the Catch SIM worked fine once inserted.

Can see the 240GB total data in the dashboard. So far so good.

  • pretty tempted on this one…

  • +1

14 hours since porting, still no service. Citing technical issues.

  • +1

took them 9 days after activation to get the mobile data working.

Mobile data reception is extremely poor compared to Kogan/Vodafone.

This is absolutely the worst telco I have used so far.

    • damn…and i was nearly commited to buying this. lucky i didnt & thanks for letting people know

      • Took me about 11 minutes in total to port over from Boost Mobile

  • Porting took about 20 hours and wasn’t seamless. After I reported the initial issue via online chat it was fixed reasonably quickly. So far so good.
