  • Would JB Hi-Fi price match Myer? Myer has no stock near me however JB does.

    • Officeworks will price beat, but obviously no cashback.

  • I don't think this is worth it when JBL Charge 5 is $200 retail price?

I have it on good authority that previously quiet train carriages are the best place to test the sound profiles and maximum volume of this speaker thanks to their 'tunnel' like shapes. A small downside however is that the solid steel and glass side of the train would of course disrupt much of your pristine and scientific test runs but, fortunately, there are two potent solutions.

1- Step into a carriage (or wait until your carriage) is full of as many humanly bodies as you can bear. Their humanly skeletons and padded meat will dampen the reverberations.

2- Run the test as many times as possible with either a popularly hated song, or a good song that has been played so often as to drive people to nausea.

Wear a white coat. It's science like.

  • Had this for a while, cool speaker and all, but doesn't deliver much on the lows end. Heard the hyperboom the other day for the first time on a beach and couldn't believe what it was pumping in an open area. Apples and oranges though I know.

  • Had one of these - sold it within a couple weeks and got a JBL charge 4.
