    Let's Go Evee!

  • I'd be so keen to try this, but now I need a baby seat (for my kid)

    • +1

evee owners may be able to supply seats, or be fine with you doing BYO. You can ask to be sure.

    • The car details will have a section for child seat, see if the owner tick yes or no.

The owner I booked from has Child seat ticked and will be included in my booking. (I think you just need to request at the time of booking)

  • anyone have a Tesla that has rented it out using Evee? Wonder if it’s worth it.

    • +2

Yes. I'm an owner on the platform. Happy to do an AMA

  • Around $250 per day… ouch. Guess tyres would need to be replaced often with the Ludicrous mode Tesla's. Or is it insurance related? A normal Jucy hire car here is $24 per day, using credit card insurance.

Tough sell in SA, as there are bugger all charging infrastructure. But eastern states seem decent.

The stupid government think it's a tax payers responsibility to install it…when it clearly should be those who profit from it (ie electrical retailers such as AGL, and the car manufacturers themselves). If we all drove EV's, do you think private industry wouldn't install chargers everywhere. Bunch of half witts

Anyway, hopefully this idea takes off, pricing should come down.

    • Yes. $300+ for a day.
A normal Corolla would cost $50 to rent.
I understand Tesla is a luxury car, but 6 times (or even 10 times) the rate of a normal rental car is … not for me
      I would only consider if it's $100 / day [or less :)]

      • -2

The rental is offered by individual car owners. I don't think we could compare them against cheap car rental company renting out Corolla for $50 - it's like comparing Apple with Avocado lol

I found some at $100+ to rent. Really depends on the supply and demand I guess..

        • What is comparative petrol? A rental Porsche is still half this.

But supply and demand I guess. if the demand is there, charge to the moon. I wish them all the best.

          • @tunzafun001: Yeah to me it's all supply and demand. There are supposedly not that many Tesla owner who are looking to rent their cars out, if the price is at moon level and there is no demand then one day it will adjust itself?

On a side note can you please share information about porsche rental? I'm genuinely interested to rent if it's half the price

            • @b0b0: Sadly, It's been so long since I travelled, but what I did was book a car one level below luxury (it was either Hertz or Avis) and used my membership (that came complimentary with either AMEX or Visa concierge) and this gives you a free one class upgrade. Will need to use the car booking search engines to find out what depots have which cars. Something like this..

              https://www.avis.com.au/en/cars/vehicles/sy/l

              • @tunzafun001: OK - this makes sense now. Thanks for the sharing the tip!

  • Am I missing something? I can't see any cars in Melbourne.
Edit: Must select two days. I was just using one.

    • I can't find any cars in Brisbane or Sydney either. Either the website is broken or this isn't much of a platform.

      • +1

The site doesn't auto select a return date for one day rentals. Do it manually and cars magically appear.

        • You are right, pretty bad design but now I see expensive cars haha.

          • @kimlo: You can also use the "Flexible dates" option to see all cars regardless of their availability. If you search for specific date then only cars that haven't been booked yet will come up. There's over a 100 cars, but very busy if you try to book only a couple of days in advance.

The offer also applies to gift cards so if you can't find a car for your desired dates now - you can buy a gift card and redeem it later https://giftcards.evee.com.au/

            Thanks for the feedback :)

            • @skozlovskii: Can I use multiple gift cards in one booking?

              • @FutureTech: Only one code (incl gift card code) can be applied at checkout per booking.

                • @skozlovskii: That's not good. Please see if this can be fixed so multiple cards can be applied to one booking (or have a way to "top up" your house account using gift card)

                • @skozlovskii: Didnt see only one code can be applied at checkout on your gift card page. It is not good for using the bought gift cards… Please fix this, thx

                  • +2

@kingboxing: Good feedback, thanks for bringing this up. Just discussed with the team and yes - it'd make sense allow redemption of multiple gift cards for the same booking. There's no technical capability to do this right now at checkout, however I've let our support team know that upon request your 2 gift card codes can be voided and replaced with a single gift card code for the combined value. This way you will keep the AMEX credits from the original purchases.

Please get in touch with [email protected] if you'd like to proceed an make sure you leave the details of your purchased gift card(s).

  • Hi OP, is there any referral bonus with evee?

    • Sorry, not sure I understand your question, but I don't get any referral bonus for posting this offer/link, no.

      • All good I was looking for the first time evee user credit of $25, also asked by another person below :)

  • Second question OP… I have done my verification, added Amex as payment method but the website keeps saying "Your Payment information is incorrect"

Does any one else have this problem?

    • Could be an issue with CVC or postcode/address payment verification. Please make sure your billing address is correct when adding the card. if that doesn't help - please send your account details to [email protected] so we can locate your account.

      • Thanks I will reach out via email

  • Using this for a trip to Tassie - what are the chances the owner will cancel my one week rental?

    • No guarantees unfortunately, but evee customer support will try and source an alternative vehicle when cancellations happen.

  • just bought two $300 gift cards.. is there first time booking code $25 off?

    • where did you see that?

      • I also saw this from one of the car rental provider. It goes like this: "you can use my referral code to get $25 off your first booking".

However I can't find where the referral code is and no such information on the website either

    • Owners on the platform are issued a referral code they can share for $25 off first rentals. The intention is these are for sharing by the owner for friends, family, associates etc, not widely publicised.

      • Can we use referral code and gift card in one booking?

    • Did you get the email from amex saying the offer has been redeemed? I haven't received them which is concerning

      • I didn’t either but have seen my payment deducted from Amex card

  • Hi OP, how to apply two gift cards in one rental?

  • I've requested the referral program be added for evee. The referral codes are not just for owners.

It's $25 off first rental (minimum spend $200) for referee and then $25 credit for referrer.
