18" Kamado Joe Classic $794 + Delivery (Free C&C) @ Bunnings Warehouse

100

18 inch Kamado Joe. Bunnings are price beating BBQs Galore price of 799. Quality unit with the same basics just missing a few of the bells and whistles of the $1499 divide and conquer unit. Picked one up myself today from West Gosford.

Delivery for me was $125 which would kill the deal, but be warned you'll need a ute or trailer and some muscles to get it home.

Great price! I started with the Jr and now have a big Joe

  • Excellent price.

I got a floor stock (last in store) Louisiana Grill for $650.00 at Costco. Not having to assemble (if fitted into a Polo with 3 people) was a real bonus.

  • What's it normally go for ?
I've been eyeing off the Akorn after having used the Akorn Jr a heap recently.

    • Prior to Bunnings stocking it, about $1k at BBQs galore.

    • The Akorn is a cast metal casing. This is all ceramic. Better heat retention and generally just a better unit.

Though ceramic can crack! Need to be careful with heating up… I’ve got the steel Akorn and it’s rock solid

  • Okay I'm guilty of buying Divide and conquer but never did anything except grill.

Then you are conquering with the ability to decide :)

D&C is good for reverse sear as you can have it all setup and not have to move stuff around (apart from the vents) between low cook and high temp sear steps.

But at this price, it's an excellent kamado and you can always buy the d&c setup (or an off brand option).
Better hinge on the upper model is good, but unlikely worth it for the $ difference for most people.

      • Been looking into this. The D&C is the series 2. Before air lift hinges, the air/ smoke chimney is also different.

I got to admit, was going to get the D&C but this one is hard to beat.

The D & C has the same hinge and chimney as this. It has a slide out ash draw and the the D & C parts. That's the only difference.

The series two is even more exi.

  • Good deal and very tempting. But too big for me now.

  • Good price. I have Akorn for a year. It's good to me already. Ceramic has better heat retention. But Metal can gain heat from summer daylight.

Well this is interesting. I thought Barbeques Galore had the exclusive rights on these

You don't need to bring your own trailer, can borrow from them free with the purchase.

15% of serious savings at BBQ’s Galore might be of interest. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/662300

  • I walked past them in Bunnings yesterday and thought the price had come down, can't justify as have UDS
