"164 specials from Woolies this week, probably more votes than Labor got in the QLD state election!"

This just cracked me up :P

    Thanks for the specials!

Even when the other lists post first, I'll still vote MyGroceries up for the humor.

Unfortunately for Woolies, not more things I want to buy than seats Labor got. Thanks for your work that saves me time, as always.

Vodafone Huawei IDEOS X3 Mobile Phone 1ea $69

Great price for an excellent little starter Android phone!
You can get these unlocked on Ebay for ~$12 and they do 850mhz for Telstra too.

    • where do you see $12… i see ~$100

      • +1

he means you buy it then pay $12 for the unlocking code to make it able to be used on the Telstra Network.

        • thanks for the clarification.

      • +1

I think he means the unlocking fee is $12, so $81 all up.

      • And I just paid $89 for this - :(

    Weis Bars rock!

Here's a link to the online 28th March catalogue for NSW (at time of posting, the Woolies website still points to the 21st March catalogue)…

    http://weeklyspecials.woolworths.com.au/activemagazine/getBo…

For other states, just change NSW to VIC, QLD, SA, WA, TAS or NT.

For future catalogues, just change the date 2012/03/28 1-2 days before the next catalogue is due (usually on a Wednesday).

    • Thanks 1bug. Looking at the catalogue in advance helps planning and hence saving. They do this all the time for most of the stores in the US…used to wonder why it didnt happen in Australia. But it is starting to happen and thanks to Ozbargainers.

Just wanted to say a big thank you for putting this together every week. You have saved me alot of money and no doubt alot of other ozbargainers, Sharon.

Even better now that you post them up super early compared to before.

  • Anyone tried the Riviana basmati rice.

How is it compared with Maharaja (or whatever it's called) at the same price at coles?

    • -2

its 50% off so the taste is 50% less LOL

    • FYI It's good (to answer my own question!) Better than the Coles one - at least that's what the missus says…..

  • +2

+1 I'm extremely appreciative of mygroceries.com.au's work too.

But Aldi is amazingly cheap in comparison - day in day out, month in month out.

Woolies & Coles are just for what I can't get in Aldi or at the market.

    • +1

Maybe mygroceries.com.au will add Aldi the the comparisons too?

      • They've answered that point many times before - aldi don't have specials, etc

"Woolies & Coles are just for what I can't get in Aldi or at the market"

        • when they are on special :)
        • aldi don't have specials

That used to be their policy a year or two back, but they do in fact have specials these days.

  • link with 8c off fuel promotion, this will be perfect

btw, if anyone is looking around the catalogue and notices some random letters, they're for this [stupid] competition to win one of 100 $25 gift cards. In this catalogue the word is FRESHFOOD. Im not even sure thats a word or if it includes a space…

    • It's stated as being a hidden "message", so can be more than one word.

  • I think for 70 bucks, Huawei X3 is starting to offer good value for the buck.

    • Is there a way to get rid of the voda-ware off the phone once it's been unlocked without voiding the warranty?

  • I have already rooted mine, see here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1341630

Once you've done that you can install titanium backup to remove the bloatware

Technically this voids your warranty, but you can also download a stock rom and put it back on, 99.98% of retailer's wouldn't know the difference. Most of the time they'll just give you a new phone if it breaks

I am going to use thiis rome tomorrow, it is debranded, all the bloatware is removed

    http://android.modaco.com/topic/348754-rom-de-branded-rom-fo…

Let me know how you go if you do decide to root.

    Cheers

    • Thanks for that - will give it a try. :)

      99.98% of retailer's wouldn't know the difference.

lol Mine came from vodafone themselves, so if they didn't notice the difference I'd be concerned.

      • But i mean if something goes wrong you would install the stock rom back on there before returning it to Voda

They would not be able to tell the difference

If it came to the point where your phone was completely broken ie faulty touchscreen then they most likey wouldn't be able to tell either :p

        I mean how could they?

Oh and also, my brother had a U8150 with a faulty touchscreen, i was still able to install the stock rom back on there* and i returned it without issue

  • It's not in the catalogue but So Good soy milk 1 litre at 2 for $3. Normal price > $2. A friend saw it in another branch so I think it may be national. I'm all stocked up for the next 2 months now. :)
