$4245 w/ gift cards. Crazy good price for 77".

    • +1

Is it even possible to get your hands on that many gift cards?

      • +1

Should be… could raid multiple Coles stores if need be. No doubt there will be people already hiding stacks of them in store.

        • Whats that I am missing? lol

Is coles doing a deal on gift cards?

      • +1

Yep, i bought my 77G1 earlier this year all with gift cards. $6400

    • People at counter will really be happy to process 50 x $100 gift cards?

      • +4

Luckily it really doesn't matter to them. They are paid hourly, and are asked to treat each customer with respect. They will just to their job and be pleased that no-one coming from OzBargain would ever want to speak with another human being in the wild, so they can do their work in private. (/s, just incase any of you shut ins really take this stuff seriously).

        • +6

"and are asked to treat each customer with respect"

Which magical jbhifi store is this? It sounds great.

          • +1

@2pro4sho: Ah, I'll be honest, I thought you meant Coles - which at my local has really nice staff. JBHI is another beast entirely!

  • Just purchased, wasn't sure it would get to 5K!

  • How does this one compare to:

    Samsung QN85A 75" Neo QLED 4K Smart TV [2021] Model: QA75QN85AAWXXY

Samsung is priced at $3388 at JB atm.

Why is the LG more expensive? TIA

    • +3

Please refer to www.rtings.com website for detailed comparison, even their Youtube channel will give you an idea

    • +7

In short, QLED is just Samsung upmarketing a regular LED screen. OLED is OLED.

      • +1

So LG OLED has superior picture quality over Samsung QLED, Neo etc.?

        • +11

Click the link, do you need a spoon?

        • +4

          Yes.

        • +1

Colours are similar, OLED handles dark scenes better, LCD handles bright scenes better

          • +4

@cille745: Nah, you cant unsee an OLED picture imo.

            • +2

@Tin man: I definitely did, While OLED definitely does a better job with space or more complex dark scenes, I found it significantly worse for all other types of content. ABL just kills it for me

              • +1

@cille745: Yeah right! I read few articles related to what you are saying. I almost bought this for the living area with lots of light, and will be primarily used as a gaming screen and for youtube karaoke tracks. The Samsung qn90a 75 similar price and might serve better. Thanks for the reply.

              • @cille745: They fixed this issue

    • -1

Not even close, once you go OLED you don't go back

  • The only thing that makes me hesitate on this is the 3 week delay on deliveries

  • What happens if you cancel an order part paid with gift cards? Do they refund in gift card?

    • +1

      Yep!

  • +3

Ordered the 65" earlier today on TGG Ebay special…called them to ask to upgrade to 77" and even after I showed the guy the JB website showing this price they refused to match it and he kept saying "nah mate its a mistake we're not matching it"

So I ordered a 77" AND a 65" now because TGG just didn't allow me to just upgrade my 65" order…and the idiots missed out on the sale as I am now taking my money to JB..

    • clown work on the guy's end but JB owns TGG so I guess money still would've went to JB at the end

    • +8

For just another $6995 you could buy the 83" and complete the trifecta? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/665360

  • Will hopefully be mine for $4750 (+$59 delivery) as soon as the 5% discounted gift cards I just ordered come through! :)

    • How many giftcards did u have to get?

      • Rewards Gateway (through my work) lets you purchase for a specific amount in max $1k denominations - so it should be 5. :)

        • Lucky you can get $1k cards!!!

    • +1

I just bought the 77" from Good Guys Ebay store for $4800.23 including delivery to Brisbane. No Giftcard needed. Just use that discount code (PLBF5) and an Ebay Plus subscription.

      • Nice - sadly I went early and ordered my GC's. Now I'm nervously waiting for the payment (bank transfer) to be processed so I can get them and buy this damn TV already. :p

  • TGG refused to price match, bought from JB! Been waiting months for the price to fall under 5K!

    • that makes no sense as it was $4995 on their website last night, in fact I just checked and it still is.

      • LOL

      • They were last to join the party. at that time TGG still had 6995 on their website.

  • Can this be wall mounted?

    • Of course! The way it should be.

      • +1

        My man! Thx mate

        • +2

          I mounted my 65" using a Sanus VLL5 mount https://www.videopro.com.au/p-12504-sanus-vll5-premium-fixed…
A bit exxy but it's fantastic quality. I love that it has levelling screws so that you can get your TV perfectly level, even if you don't fix the mount to the wall perfectly level. Very clever.

          • @bataleon: Costco have it for $100 less

            • @boomramada: Good find mate! Too late for myself but hopefully it helps someone else :)

            • @boomramada: Available online or in store? If online do you have a link?

          • @bataleon: Do you have the issue how top of the screen hits the wall when you pull the strings and lock the stand-off feet to work behind the tv?

            • @Jklaro: Negative mate. I've got the VLL5 on a 65" X95H and a 65" C1 and it's all good for both of them.

  • +5

If I bought this I think my partner would use the 86c retractable knife on me

  • I need help, i cant decide between this and the 85" QN85A
I've got the old c7t 65 right now.

    • -1

      I'll make it easy.

Either buy an LG OLED now, or buy a cheap LCD while waiting for other brands to start producing OLED.

You will regret spending 5k on an LCD

    • I have the QN85A 85 inch in the lounge and a C1 55 inch in my bedroom. The QN85A produces awesome colours, bright whites and deep, almost OLED like blacks. Can't fault either TV. The LG is surely slightly darker so if your lounge is relatively bright you'll be very happy with the Samsung. I also have the Samsung Q950A soundbar making it a great home theatre experience. I have absolutely no regrets paying $4600 for the Samsung and I'd do it again.

  • Welcome thoughts - would you go for the 65 G1 vs 77 C1? I gots to know! Viewing distance would be 6-8ft.

    • She said bigger size is better. Question to others, what are the chances these C1s are newer Evo panels?

    • +2

Got a 65 and sit about 7 feet away. It's good, but the 77 is the right choice.

  • Wish the G1 has similar price drop!

  • +1

Damn, great price on the 77inch! Bought mine for $5500 3 months ago & thought that it was a bargain.
Best TV I've ever had. Needs a bit of tweaking to get the best picture & colour balance but when watching a movie with Dolby Vision in 4k120 will blow you away!
Shang-Chi on Disneyplus with IMAX, Dolby Vision & Atmos on this TV is next level streaming!
Buy one of these beauties if you haven't already! You won't regret it!!

    • Hey how do I watch Dolby Vision in 4k120 on the C1? Which movie and source is this?

      • I'm pretty sure 120hz refresh rate would be applicable to latest gen console or PC

        • +1

That's right. But question I am asking is about movies. "watching a movie with Dolby Vision in 4k120 will blow you away!" ?

          • @aguitarfreak: I've heard of HFR (high refresh rate) but not sure it's been implemented in streaming services as yet.

            • @m0usju1c3: Right, which is why I was curious about what was being said in the comment.

    • which movie is in DV 4k@120? or did you mean gaming?

  • -6

nice price but I'm only moving to my Toorak property from Mont Albert in Feb, hopefully got more sales then as I don't want to repeatedly move a mounted TV

  • Got it for $4,784 delivered from Bing Lee eBay, and expecting another 1% back from Shopback

    • How did you get it for $4,784 on eBay?

      • +1

Bing Lee ebay has a 5% off code.

I got it for similar price from JB directly tonight also.

        • I paid $4995 from JB, did you get it cheaper? how?

      • Sorry correct price is $4785.25 with eBay Plus incl. shipping

  • +1

Very tempted! But..but with more research I found FIFA can easily cause burn in according to the test from Rting.com. So I’ll probably keep my Sony TV for gaming until OLED burn in is further improved. Better not to risk it on a $5k TV

    • is that rting.com analysis a new article/link? Haven't found anything new about it, but if you do have a link, grateful if you could please share.

      • I believe they were referring to this test. See their video here: https://www.rtings.com/tv/learn/real-life-oled-burn-in-test

        • +1

Interesting, but using this as a TV that would get an average of 2-3 hours of mixed gaming / netflix use a day and rarely (if ever) watch news channels, burn in really shouldn't be an issue - correct?

          • +2

@Stalker: Yeah generally burn-in is not a major issue, if you are aware of what causes it and take steps to prevent it. Perfect for mixed content, but playing the same game, such as something like FIFA with things like scoreboards always in the same spot, could be an issue if you have regular lengthy gaming sessions

            • @lemonliam: Thanks for that - I've come too far to back out now! :D

    • Shouldn't have probs getting the panel replaced under ACL for at least 5 years

  • This or 2 65s?

  • +1

Now available at Harvey Norman for the same price with free delivery. $4995

  • Just to throw a spanner into the cereal bowl, the Hisense 100” 4K TriChroma Laser TV Projector is $4995 also at JB Hifi. If you have a light controlled area in your house, this is a killer TV replacement.

From a review 'Color performance is one of the best examples of how the Hisense L9G ultra-short-throw projector sets itself apart from other displays. Specifically, the TriChroma RGB 3 Laser light engine enables the L9G to achieve an astounding 107% of the BT.2020 color space resulting in images that are more realistic with improved color accuracy, depth, and brilliance. To be clear no existing flat panel television, either OLED or LCD is capable of displaying this much of the BT.2020 color gamut.'

'MEMC technology gives the L9G microsecond-level processor response and a motion rate 10 times faster than OLED so you never miss a moment of the action. Images are buttery-smooth and crystal clear – so whether its sports, games, or action films, the L9G is gonna give you the picture you deserve.'

    • How is it for PS5 gaming at 4K? Any input lag, how's colour accuracy, HDR

    • says $6k on jbhifi. is the deal gone or was this a typo?

  • Will there be Sony OLED deals? Holding out ATM…

    • Hopefully, Sony prices tend to be a lot more conservative though

    • May not be close to LG deals .. $5888 at JB hifi for a 77 inch
