Not far off the Good Guys Ebay deal. Especially if you can get 4% off gift cards.

    • You mean the 15% Gift Cards if the price holds till Wednesday :)

Is everyone purchasing this tv with 1 year warranty and then depending on Australian Consumer Law if the tv plays up after the 1 year?

    • +1

Do these have reliability issues? My 'old' Panasonic OLED (2018) has been flawless so far.

      • +2

I've had a 65C9 since the start of 2020 and it's doing fantastically! No issues to report and it's certainly had some good use

        • Same here got it from good guys for $2540 installed and delivered. Best tv I've ever had

      • I had an issue with mine but it was within the first week (power supply whine/noise). Goodguys replaced immediately, just a video of the issue as proof. Replacement has been perfect

    • +4

At least through JB, we add additional "voluntary" warranty due to the price of the product. We have blue brochures in store that explains this.

      For this TV,
      1 year manufacturer warranty
As it's over $4k, we add 2.5 years voluntary warranty equating to a total of 3.5 years coverage through JB.

      See here for more: https://support.jbhifi.com.au/hc/en-au/articles/360053005194…

    • The standards of Australian consumer law are very clear about what happens if your TV breaks outside of the 12 months warranty

I wouldn't get scammed into paying extra for extended warranty on these, statutory warranty on TVs is "longer than 2 years" according to advice from the ACCC:

      https://www.accc.gov.au/system/files/Electrical%20%26%20whit…

on page 9 it says the following:

A reasonable consumer would expect to get more than two years’ use from a $1800 television. Under the consumer guarantees, the consumer therefore has a statutory right to a remedy on the basis that the television is not of acceptable quality. The supplier must provide a remedy free of charge.

      • You might be surprised how well these warranties work. I had a Panasonic 4K 55 inch LCD that was around 3 years old and all of the sudden the diffusers started falling down leaving me with something like this.

Within a week I had my full payment $ of $1800 in store credit and bought a cheaper and better 4K tv for $1350 and had $450 left in credit. Good luck filing a claim with ACCC for a 3-6 month replacement or solution. It's hardly a scam when you get a quick and timely result. Some people prefer peace of mind rather than have to wait for an out come that could possibly prevent them from watching day to day tv or w/e.
Think of it as insurance, not a scam.

EDIT I should add that on any major appliance I always get additional warranty, unless the tv already has a 3 year replacement.
I have already successfully used 2 of them and it worked out great.

        • This may be true but even then if my TV breaks while I want it fixed/replaced according to ACCC guidelines I'm not going to be severely impacted if it isn't resolved immediately. I think I can realistically wait out the period rather than paying a ridiculous price for extended warranty (I was quoted 10% of the value of the TV for an extra year of warranty at JB Hifi)

          • @crawfs: So it's not a scam, it is after market warranty that serves people who want things replaced in a timely manner.
My 1st plasma issue with a 55 inch TV was replaced with a 60 inch plasma and they let me keep the 55 which works fine now.
Understand that whilst these warranties might not work for you, they work perfectly well for others.

            • @[Deactivated]: Thanks to everyone for their input. Ended up getting the TV from TGG for $2,884 including 5 years warranty (gold service extras). Good deal, peace of mind and the warranty is transferrable so if I sell the tv within 3 years the new owner will still get 2 years warranty. I thought it was worth it 👍

    • JB do 2.5 year warranty on over a $2000 item.

  • Items that end in 88 are final price at JB/GG?

    • +9

I always thought it was just them targeting the Chinese market.

        • Get that woke shit out of here

  • +3

Not sure why, but the staff at JB HiFi never even bother entertaining the idea when I ask for a lower price.

They'll usually just say "It's already on sale, there's no movement on the price"

I'm on OzBargain, I know how low it can go.

    • They always help me out at my local store. Even with sale items. They even price match Amazon for me sometimes.

    • +10

Because someone else will come in 5m later and buy at full RRP

    • +2

Unless it's changed since 4 or so years ago when I knew people who worked there; it depends how much commission is in a product. If they know it's on a sale, they know they're only eating into their already diminished commission and they'll probably make $0 extra; so they'll stone wall you as discounting it for you is in a way, costing them money.

Depends how kind of a person you're talking to.

That being said; going in and saying "on eBay TGG today, this was $2743.60" is a losing battle; as it was actually $2888 as far as the retailer is concerned. eBay was paying the extra % off. You can't really count that as going retail rate as you used a coupon.

    • I've price matched sale items that are cheaper elsewhere but generally wouldn't bother asking for their "best price" if it's already on sale. If you want it when it's as low as possible (and you know what that price point is) then do the bargaining when it's at that price.

    • then just buy it from the place you saw the lower price ?

    any more lg tv deals

  • +6

Jesus the oled deals popping is overwhelming me.

    • +4

Mods should just combine all the JB ones into one post… pointless having separate deals.
There's now been posts for 55", 65", 77" and 83". 48 prob next. Edit: 48" deal got posted lol.

    • Buy first, return later

  • Also same deal on Bing Lee

  • Price matched JB with Betta for $2995 including delivery… feel like a rookie. Just sent an email requesting a refund of the difference. Fingers crossed.

    • They usually honor price drops within 2 weeks

Really wanted A90J Sony but I doesn’t look like they ever go on sale.. might have to pull the pin on this one

    • input latency isn't as good as the LGs right ?

  • +2

Ok what’s the deal with LG buy ozbargain? There are like 10 LG tv posts

      • Someone's bit jelly.

      • Lots of people have been waiting for this deal.

        • +1

Surely these OLED deals can be grouped into one though… looks dodgy the way it is

          • @OzViper: I received an email from JB hi-fi around the time I posted this deal. Others would also have received the same email and have posted what they thought was the best deal.

  • I am pondering if I should wait till Wednesday to get the 15% off GCs from Coles but fear this would be sold out by then.

    • I waited too long thinking about the good guys ebay plus deal before it sold out, noticed this deal was losing stock at certain stores so I just bit the bullet.

      • same here simon. I checked JB hifi stocks around me and they are out. the GCs only allow in person purchases so it is not possible anymore.
I bought a bunch of JB Hifi digital GC and ordered the TV for delivery now.

  • HCF JB Gift cards are currently 6.5% off, instead of 5% as part of their Black Friday Sale. so after their 1% CC fee its 5.5% off, limit of $2500 a week, that's what I used for this.

    • HCF?

      • HCF is an insurance company.

Confusingly there is also HIF and HBF.

Australia seems to have a thing for three letter acronyms.

        • ABC

        • i mean there are other compneys to go thro No ?

  • +1

Is the 55" at $2142 considered a good deal? What's the lowest it has gotten to?

  • This is the greatest day of my life!

  • Ah damn, just got the jb hi fi one last night when this was out of stock! No point in trying to cancel the order either since I bought gift cards to pay for it

    • I am on the exact same boat! I feel helpless. We may have hope if jb or another retailer reduces their price further and get the difference back.

Oops edit thought u were referring to the 2.7k price. You can still contact jb maybe to get the differ3nce refunded

      • I got it for $2888 plus shipping price. Will they refund the difference if it's a lower price somewhere else?

        • I think it's worth the try, but if it's Like ebay, they usually say no.

        • In the end I went on a witch hunt for those 15% off coles gift card, and bought another one at tgg, they gave a further discount ($2744).
I'll refund the jb order and will be stuck with the gift cards for a long time…

    • Same boat here. :-( Website said 3 weeks while ordering, then 3 hours later recivied an email saying it would be 7 weeks (11-Jan). Very unhappy.

      • Update: was told via email ticket that it might be before Christmas. 2 hours later I received an SMS saying it was now in stock, delivery organised for tomorrow. I won’t believe it until it arrives.

      • Update: TV was just delivered.
        Purchased : 22-Nov 7:28 PM
        Delivered: 25-Nov 11:30 AM

Now I just have to leave it in its box until I finish my working from home day… ;-)

  • What to do with current TV though? With so many offers around, selling it on gumtree is gonna be difficult.

  • +1

Quick search shows nearly every retailer including harvey norman doing this price

  • +1

Hello. How much are these usually? Are the c1 series any good? How do they compare to the other LG series? Also still concerned about burn ins and life expectancy of oled tvs. Can you help enlighten me? Thank you

  • Great Deal, Thanks OP!

  • This or a 75" Samsung QN85A? Can't stretch the budget to $5K for the 77' OLED. Main use is movies and Xbox series X. Torn between OLED and the bigger screen.

  • As the experts with the C1, I am sitting just under 3 meters from a 55" TV at the moment. I am tossing up 65" C1, 75" QN85A Neo, or 75" X90J for the 3k price point. Would love opinions on the best to go with, they all seem to be great.

  • One quick question, does it fit into a Honda HRV? Looking to pick up one

  • +1

i think i hit the jackpot. managed to get it at $2700 for the tv + 3 years additional warranty (5 years total and covers burn ins) + delivery. now just need to score some giftcards.

    • +3

Can't dangle a carrot like that without a receipt :P

      • +1

ah yes i apologize. the sale is just parked. i'm yet to go instore and pay for it which will probably be on the weekend. i'll upload once i get it

      • here you go

        • Tried in Brisbane CBD but best I could get was $2700 including delivery (no extra warranty).

He said if he sold it with the extra warranty at that price they would make about $35 profit on the TV and no commission for the rep.

    • superb negotiation skills there! which location/store may I ask so I can do the same!?

      • Bourke St, Melb

        • Was delivery included, or + as in add delivery fee

          • @BugsBunnyAUS: $2700 total including delivery and additional warranty

          • +1

@BugsBunnyAUS: looks like someone else picked it up for $2700 from HN($2511 after gc). If HN can do $2700 then others will definitely have more wiggle room

            • @kazer: I followed this thread on got a pricematch at HN Dandenong. THANK YOU OZB.

    • Great score! Can I ask which JB rep at the Burke st store you spoke to over the phone? If they can do the same deal I'd try and cancel my eBay purchase and go with this option 😀

      • I went in store, refused to match it. Obviously no idea if it was the same staff member but I wouldn't count on it. Went to another JB and they said no as well. Stock is a real problem.

        • sorry peeps. i'm not sure if the rep'll appreciate me sharing his name as he'll get bombarded with calls. i've had an ongoing issue with jb for the last 2 weeks regarding another order so they probably went the extra mile to make me happy. let me go talk to him over the weekend and if he's okay i'll post his name.

        • and yes. they also did advise me that I might be waiting 4-8 weeks for stock to arrive. more than a 1000 units ordered in the past 2-3 days

          • @kazer: Good news. I just called another JB store and scored the exact same deal. It's just hit and miss who you speak with but it's out there. $2,700 with extended warranty including delivery. Now to sort out my JB gift cards for a further discount! Thanks @kazer! … unfortunately I have to withhold the salesperson's name and store they work at.

            • @Wongman: Good on ya. Grats :)

              • @kazer: @kazer: Thanks for posting your receipt.
After calling several stores with zero luck I managed to get the same deal by going in store. Some good luck combined with finding the right sales person at the just right time = an amazing deal. Paying with discounted gift cards made the deal even sweeter. I'm one happy camper - thanks and good on ya.

                • @gimjam: Awesome. Glad to know it helped :)

    • +1

Wow Kazer and Wongman, you guys must have got the best OLED deal ever, so jealous. With 15% off gift cards, will drop the price to $2295 for 65" C1!

You guys have any idea if I can go in a store, negotiate deal and then get it delivered even though online says no stock for click and collect or buy in store? No stores left in Sydney have stock it appears. Wanted the Sony but this price is too irresistible.

      • +1

Haha thanks. Got pretty lucky there.
And yes. I believe stores will take backorders and deliver when it's available. That's how my order is.

        • Thanks for your reply, I will try my luck tomorrow and if successful go hunting for the gift cards! To think just under $3000 was a good price and now it's under $2500!

Sales I spoke with today could only do costco price plus $100 for the Sony A80J and said that's how they do price matches with Costco. Hope I have better luck when I go to a different store!

          • @JL1: Keep trying. Looking at other people who have replied, looks like it's all about finding the right rep to talk to. Don't give up. Not everyday you get the chance to get a 65" for the price of a 55". I've posted the receipt below. $2287 for the tv alone. And add gift cards if you manage to negotiate a good deal.
