      Damn. Already bought that yesterday.

    • Is this still valid?

      • Yep, for the next week

    • +1

Buying one $100 Amazon gift card (rather than one $75 and one $25) should get you the same deal - $20 Amex credit and $5 Amazon voucher.

  • +3
    • Amazon sells Amazon, Xbox, RedBalloon, Flight Centre and Apple GCs
    • JB Hi-Fi sells JB Hi-Fi, Xbox, PlayStation and Kobo GCs
    • Kogan sells Kogan, Kogan Mobile, Zohi and My Daily Discounts GCs
    • Harvey Norman sells Harvey Norman, Dodo, Xbox and PlayStation GCs

    Have I missed any?

    • What about Nintendo eShop?

    • +2

One JB Hi-Fi I went to a couple of weeks ago sold Apple GCs, App Store & iTunes GCs (that's not a typo)and Stan GCs. I'm trying to recall if there were any other gift cards for other streaming services…

      • +1

I was just checking online, good thinking about in store.

  • Can we buy 2 x Kogan $100 gift cards and $40 cashback?

    • +2

As long as they’re seperate transactions.

  • if i activated today but bought items yesterday will i still get the credit?

    • +3

      No

    • +1

Cancel your order and buy it again if it works out to be a better deal.

      • I would say check first in order details if it has been charged.
If not, buy gift cards and apply to the order after gift cards are applied to your account.
(Buying something on Amazon does not always immediately get charged.)

  • +4

So if you spend, for example, $200 at one shop in a single transaction, will you still get $40 back?

    • +1

      Same question here

    • +4

I doubt it. For two x $20 credit it has to be at least two transactions totalling $100 or more.

    • +2

No, only $20 back, you need to do 2x $100 seperately.

    • +8

Buy a $100 gift card in the first transaction.
Go back and use the gift card and $100 on the AMEX for your $200 purchase in the second transaction.

      • +3

        This is the way.

      • -1

Smart…..so u end up with ONE gift card of $200 credit on it.

        • +1

You can't use a gift card to buy a gift card. Not that it matters in the end; each gift card just adds credit to your account and can be spent together. I added 23 $20 gift cards to purchase the Oculus a couple of days ago.

        • +2

Not for a Gift Card but if you have a $200 ITEM you want to buy, get a $100 gift card in one transaction, then purchase the ITEM using the $100 gift card and $100 on AMEX for 2 transactions and the 2 x $20 AMEX credits.

          • +1

            @AnophthalmiaCervidae: why not buy 2x $100 giftcards ?

            • @CyberMurning: Sure, if you like collecting gift cards you can get 2x gift cards.
Of course if you have 5x eligible AMEX cards then you could get 10x gift cards.
If you want to actually buy something then only need one gift card to split into 2 transactions.

(Conflicting reports on whether or not 1 x $200 purchase would generate 2x $20 credits based on previous deals).

    • +3

I received 2x$20 in one go on a single transaction over $200 with similar offers from amex before.

  • +1

can I spend $100 and get $30 in one go in JB? I have spend $100 get $10 back as well

    • Usually works.

      • Does JB HIFI sell e-gift cards online?

  • 2 x $100 Amazon Gift cards, thanks
Just 1 confirmation from AMEX though… will see I guess.

    • yeah strangely I also only got 1 confirmation when I order two $100 gc separately.

    • still waiting for 2nd one to be processed

    • are they 2 separate orders?

  • Yep, i only got the spend $100 get $10 from JB.
edit: Dam found it, but used the $10 one

  • Got it on my plebeian low rate! Ty Amex

  • -2

is Prime member annual membership eligible as part of $100? at least $59 have to be spent to maintain membership anyway

    • -1

Buy the gift card and then use gift card to buy prime membership?

  • I have a feeling, although not stated in offer terms, that it will be one credit per business. The aspect of one or more transactions to meet the $100 spend leads me to this. Eg do 2 transactions of $50, get a credit, do another 2 @ $50 and get another credit. Otherwise why wouldn’t a single transaction of $200 get both!

    • +4

Doubt it - Vogue fashion night for example I used 2 transactions at Myer and got cashback twice. However it was confirmed 2 x $100 transactions were required to triggered both credits, and 1 x $200 transaction triggered only one credit.

      • Fair enough, good explanation.

      • +1

1 x $200 transaction triggered only one credit

        Are you sure?

      • +4

        did 2 x $100 amazon…triggered twice

      • +1

For the vogue offer I did 1 X $200 purchase. Got 2 credits.

    • +2

The terms didn't say one credit per business

        FU GERRY

  • Great offer but not on all the cards.

  • this is a great offer. got it on my Qantas Ultimate AMEX too

  • Got it on my free discovery amex. One of the better deals recently

  • purchase amazon e gift card but not receive amex offer redeem email yet

    • Once Amazon charges the amex card you should then get the confirmation email.
Although I didn't get the confirmation email for the second $100 amazon gc.

    • Yep, 6 hours and no egift card, still says "processing"

      • Yeah, that's a bit frustrating about buying them from Amazon.
        Go via a 3rd party and they're instant …

  • For each $100 can it be spent in mixed stores?

  • This offer should work if you purchase a JB Hi-Fi gift card in store, yeah?

  • +6

    2 x $100 amazon egift cards processed
got confirmation email x 2 from Amex

so not 1 credit per store

    • Thanks for confirming… got the two GCs but only one confirmation email for me though.

    • Yes same for me.

      • took 2 hrs for 2nd gift card to be processed

    • Still waiting for 2nd AMEX confirmation…

  • +1

2 confirmations from Amex for 2 x$100 Amazon gift card purchases. Great deal. Thanks OP.

  • Can anyone confirm if Apple gift card works via Amazon online?

  • +1

Is it $100 in aggregate? I have ordered a few items but because some things aren't immediately in stock, they're shipping the items separately (and I think charging separately as well).

    • My question too. Eg can we spend $50 at HN, $30 at Kogan and $20 at JB to qualify?

    • spend $100 or more, in one or more transactions

What I find confusing, is the order in which transactions go through. Lets say I order a $60 item and $40 item ($100 total). Then later a $50 and $50 item ($100 total). The $60 and one of the $50s ship - $110 total charged, credit triggered. Then the next day the $40 and the other $50 ship, $90 charged, no credit triggered unless the $10 from the previous one carries over.

      • +1

Much better to get a GC.

        • Problem for me is that I'm buying physical gift cards for xmas that are < $100 each. I think I'm going to wait for the first order to ship before I place the second.

          • +1

@puffinfresh: Buy one $100 amazon gift card and then use it to buy the smaller value gift cards. Amazon say they won’t let you buy gift cards with gift card balance but their system doesn’t stop it. Have done it before when I wanted to convert Amazon gift card balance to Apple gift card balance

    • +3

I bought 3x $75 amazon gift cards for science (ok it was really to maximize the $5 bonus) and got 2x Amex offer confirmation emails

Looks to be aggregate based on the T&Cs and this test

      • You the real MVP.

Do you get the $5 multiple times? Worth trying I guess.
Edit: T&Cs say one promotional credit per account. Ah… different accounts?

        • +1

well now I feel silly, nah it was on the one account… oops!

        • Both emails came through for me

        • I thought the $5 bonus is for each Amazon account… i.e. you can't get it more than once on the one Amazon Prime account.

  • +1

Will this work on Amazon US orders through the app does anyone know?

    • +1

If unsure, just buy gift cards and then use the gift cards to purchase anything.

I assume you are referring to Amazon US items on Amazon.com.au.

  • I bought $60+ on amazon yesterday, will this count (it said "by 31/12/2021" but didn't said the start date)?

    • +1

Probably not if you didn't activate it before your card was charged

    • Is your card charged already? Normally amazon only charges when they start shipping (if it's from Amazon itself).

  • Just wondering: will we get $20 off if we spend $60 at Amazon, $20 at Kogan and $20 at JB Hifi?

  • got on plat charge but not on the free reserve

  • Received both gift cards ($100 each) and two separate emails from Amex confirming the purchase

  • Is amazon e-gift card eligible or just physical card? Thanks

    • +1

      doesnot matter..both are eligible

  • Bought $100 amazon gift card twice, only received one email from amex :(

    • In the same boat here (12 minutes in between the 2 orders)
Edit: nevermind, one email ended up in spam it seems.

    • +1

I did the same at 9.30 am but received 2 emails straight away.

      • +1

One of the emails to me ended up in SPAM, so might be worth for @ozvictor to check the SPAM folder.

        • still only 1 email…

  • +2

    ok bought as well
4x $100 gift card with 2 different amex
2 amex confirmation emails received for the first card

  • Does the gift card or amazon credit have an expiry date?

    • +1

      No

Your Amazon.com.au Gift Card will not expire. We'll automatically apply your Gift Card Balance to eligible orders when you checkout. If you would rather not use your balance, you can deselect it in the Payment Selection step of checkout. Limitations: Your Gift Card Balance cannot be transferred to other accounts. See the Amazon.com.au Gift Card terms and conditions for further information.

      &

      Amazon.com.au Balance Expiration.
Your Amazon.com.au Balance and Gift Cards do not expire, including those with a printed expiry period or those previously subject to an expiry period.

  • Bought a $100 gift card from kogan but no Amex confirmation :(

  • How long does it take to get a confirmation email? I saved the offer to my card and bought a $100 amazon gift card (received and applied to my acct), the $100 is showing as pending in my Amex app, but I haven't received any confirmation email saying I qualified for the $20 ? (first time Amex user..)

    • +1

Usually Amex bonus confirmations are instant (if it's an in-store purchase I often receive the email confirming offer achieved before leaving the store). However, sometimes the emails take hours or days to arrive and other times there is no confirmation email. Keep an eye on your statement in a few days. Within a week you'll probably find it shows up in your Amex transactions but if not you can keep the evidence and talk to them about it. They usually have a long worst case crediting time so you may have to wait a couple of months.
