Great deal from Amex! Didn’t get Harvey Norman on mine, might be due to having the travel credit offer swap still active.

    • -1

Huh? It's one offer that covers all four stores

      Isn't it?

      • Huh? Not for me and some others. It’s only 3 of them.

        • Same for me. 3 only.

          • @ElusiveA: 3 for me too (no Harvey Norman) but when I spent money at HN it triggered the offer on my Amex anyway

    • @Coops1
I’ve heard rumours of the Harvey Norman / TravelCredit swap… Have you used it?
but not sure how it works? Do you need to ask AmEx for the swap or is it automatic?
      Thanks

      • got an email with the offer to activate.
Can still use for travel credit but bought me some time till 31/12 to use.
I wonder if I can use it for an egift card at HN.

        • -3

absolute NO according to Amex and it is not allowed under the terms and conditions

          • @IanC: When did absolute fact require negs?

By all means go ahead and waste the credit… good luck and have a nice Xmas.

Read the terms and conditions or ring AMEX or waste it… I won't try to help again.

            • +1

@IanC: Didn't neg, but it's a well-known fact that while technically against the terms and conditions, Amex can't tell whether you buy a gift card from HN.

              • @kerfuffle: Agree totally but this one uses different terminology in the T & C.

I have rung AMEX many times on previous offers and never been told that a GC can't be used so have always had the fall back position if they did indeed block it.

Just suggesting if you can utilise it before Xmas go for it

                • +1

@IanC: There’s multiple examples of people buying gift cards and getting the credit in the original deal post here.

Not sure what the changed t&c’s are, but they have always said that gift cards are excluded from statement credit promotions. As kerfuffle has said, Amex can’t tell what you bought from a store. They just know how much you’ve spent. So I don’t see what else the t&c’s could say to further exclude gift cards.

              • @kerfuffle: And David Jones, Amazon, and Myer instore.

              • -3

@kerfuffle: Just rang amex… categorical approval to use to buy for gift card..agent said there are no restrictions.

obviously have her name and time so totally covered for any hitch.

    • Same here. Only JB, Amazon & Kogan in my plat charge.

  • +26

Good deal, only showed up on my primary cards.

Also, obligatory don't support Gerry message.

  • +3

only got it on 1 of my primary cards (other 2 prmary cards, and the supp cards of these primary cards didnt get it)
did not have harvey norman as part of my offer

  • Thanks, got the full range of stores on my card

  • +8

Thanks OP. Didn’t get HN either (not that I’d spend any money there anyway).

  • +1

Did you just see this under “offers” when logging into your account?

If I follow your link to the “membership month” page I see the promo but it says coming soon.

    • +1

Yes, or directly from the app under the tab “offers”.

      • +4

Ok thanks. I chatted with Amex and offers don’t appear for new cards until the first billing cycle. Bummer!

        • +1

Thanks @a1ienz, saved me a phone call

  • +16

Can we buy $100 amazon gift card and be eligible?

    • +5

Worked each time for me in the past

    • +1

      That's what I did.
Perfect for me as I was going to do Christmas shopping on there anyway.

      • +7

Worked for me Amazon gift card.

        • +5

Perfect. Got it two primary cards so time to buy 4× $100 Amazon gift card.

        • Did you choose a particular type of gift card, or just the standard https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B07TDR2SLF

        • Same. Bought 2 gift cards and got 2 emails from AMEX right away.

        • +3

Bought a digital gift card and no email from Amex. Did you buy a physical one that they post to you?
          Thanks

    • Worked for me

    • +3

Don't forget to use GIFTCARDBFCM since you're spending over $75 to get bonus $5 promotional credit.

      • Is that an Amazon discount code? Have any more info on this?

  • +3

    primary cards only

  • Only on primary. Thanks OP

  • +12

Only on Discovery, not on Essential for me

Stack with $5 credit with $75 gift card purchase https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/664837

    • -5

      Does it stack? Anyone tried

    • Any experience on how long it takes for the $5 credit to come through afterwards? I know it says up to 8 business days but I was kind of hoping it's faster than that in practice.

      • They say 8 days in the terms.

        • +1

Probably won’t come until after the Black Friday cyber Monday sales are over.

          • @jace88: Unless you open the support chat and indicate you had issues (which I had).
And then they say it was already credited to the account (which they do in the background for you).

So basically got it immediately after chatting with them.

    • Got on my primary Essential card.

  • -2

    Great, thank you.

Do you need to spend $100 or more in a single transaction or doesn’t matter as long as total is $100 before 31/12?

    • -3

      I believe it’s a single transaction.

    • +10

spend $100 or more, in one or more transactions

The answer is in the details ;-)

  • +4

I wish I had seen this offer before I jumped on the Quest 2 Amazon deal.

    • you can buy gift card and use them later

    • +2

Credit can still be applied afterwards on orders that haven't shipped yet.
Go to orders then order details and click on the apply credit (Amazon's system is way better than ebay's voucher/GC system).

  • +1

Only showed up on my Velocity Escape; nothing on my DJs Amex or Elevate cards.

    • +1

Got it on DJ Amex Plat

    • Same for me, QF discovery and Amex Cashback both didn't have it - the Amex CB is a new card on it's second billing cycle too.

  • Can we make 2x 100 transactions at Amazon and get 2x 20 credits?

    • +5

      Don't see why you can't

    • Edit: answered below.

  • Nothing on my discovery card :(

  • Funny that I got all 4 stores (40000 cards) on 1 card and 3 stores on another (20000 cards)

  • -2

    Amazon gift card ok?

    • +5

      Asked and answered already above.

      • +1

        Gift card is ok.

        • Thank you

  • Yeehah finally can justify Xbox one controller with windows adapter.

    Thanks op

  • +2

Lucky I got 3 stores, but no HN because I don’t shop at gerry store, just irritated to see that name.

  • dammit. ordered 2 days early

  • +4

Can the 2x $100 transactions be at the same store?

  • Mine says "Coming soon". That's on my "Explorer" card.

  • I got on my escape card

  • Excludes Amazon Australia digital purchases

    So no gift cards then?

    • Like Kindle books or movie rentals.

    • +3

Sounds like yes but I did it anyway and hope it is included. Haven't got code yet.

Code came through from Amazon and Amex confirmed I got the offer so gift cards ARE included.

    • Excludes Amazon Australia digital purchases (including, but not limited to, eBooks and Apps).

      Worked fine for me too.

    • Worked fine for me. Tracked and got email confirmation

      • -2

Got email confirmation too, but the email did say the credit would only appear if the transaction meets the offer terms. Not sure if digital gift card meets the terms as it is technically a digital purchase…

  • Did anyone receive confirmation from Amex after doing the $100 spend? It has been 20 mins now and still no email.

    • +3

Yes. Took a while but got it.

      • Yeah amazon gift card took longer than usa but can confirm it works

  • Got this offer on my Essentials card, saved it to the card and got the confirmation message on screen that it had been saved. Went back to check the list of other offers and it was still showing as "Save to card". Tried again and now getting the message "Sorry. We were unable to save this offer ro your card. Please try again later". Didn't receive confirmation email either, so there must be a glitch. .

ETA: Just logged out of my account and back in again, and it's now showing in my saved offers - whew!

    • Thanks. I had the save error. Logged out, logged in, and was able to save successfully.

  • +3

I saved one offer earlier for jbhifi i.e spend $100 and get $10. So does it mean if i spent $300 on jbhifi? I will get two offers $40+$10, total =$50?

    • I also want to know this

    • +1

I'm in the same boat. In my experience, the earlier offer and this offer will trigger simultaneously upon the first $100 spend. So, we'll only need to spend $200 at JB to get $50 back :)

  • Received only on my Ultimate primary for all 4 stores, nothing on the Discovery.

  • Looks like only on main :(

  • +1

No problem $100 amazon digital card.
Also cs said $5 offer also still valid

  • Got on my Qantas ultimate but not on DJ Amex

  • I just bought quest yesterday night and woke up to this…

  • +2

    Mad!
PS Plus 12 months for $43.30 each if you buy 2!

    • So tempted but I’m already set until Aug 2023.

  • Thanks.

  • Thanks OP. Got full range on my card.

  • +1

This is just the best (all on Discovery)

  • Only got it on my main Velocity Platinum (and none of its supps).

Sadly seems the days of $70-100 back on $350 over half a dozen cards are long gone. :(

  • Which amazon gift card is this promotion valid? E-gift card or physical gift card? Or we can buy any from amazon website?

    • $100 spend at Amazon Online. Doesn’t matter what you buy.

      • Can it be over multiple purchases? Or does it have to be a single $100 item?

        • From OP:

          in one or more transactions

  • +4

combine with this for another $5 by getting a $75 and a $25 later https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/664837
