Gigabyte AORUS Gen4 7000s 1TB NVMe SSD $249, Crucial MX500 2TB 2.5" SSD $229 + $0 Express Post + Surcharge @ Shopping Express

260

Day 2 of the Black Friday specials and I've compiled a list of some of the products in today's sale that I think are good with some including free express shipping. There's also an RTX 3060 Mini thrown in! 1% surcharge applies for select payment methods.

The Gigabyte AORUS 7000s is a good buy for PS5 users as it's PCIe Gen4, has a heatsink and features an ultra fast seq read of 7000MB/s and seq write of 5500MB/s. Gigabyte have designed the heatsink to fit in the PS5 fine as announced here.

The Crucial MX500 2TB SSD is another good buy if you're after something in a 2.5" SATA form factor. It offers TLC NAND flash for better performance, as opposed to QLC found in other cheaper SSDs and DRAM cache.

  • Good price for the aorus if you're looking for ps5 storage

  • Does the Gen 4 7000s fit in the PS5 with the cover on? (with heat sink attached obviously)

    • +1

Yep it fits fine. The heatsink is big enough to provide really good cooling too.

      • Nice! I might get one then, some of them fit with the heatsink but the cover doesn't fit back on (giving a way for dust to get in), but this one sounds like it'd made for the PS5, fits with heatsink with cover back on again, winner winner

  • Would this fit into the PS5 with those dimensions?

    • +1

      Yes.

      • Thank you! :)

Its very nice for the complete set - Man really hard to choose this or the WD Black on Amazon for $212 or something but no Official heatsink like this one -

        • WD is a good alternative with similar speeds but as you say there's no heatsink on that. You could get a 3rd party heatsink from somewhere like eBay, though I don't think the cheap copper heatsinks will perform as good as the AORUS.

          • @Clear: Actually the sabrent cover+heatsink has incredible results

            • @softwhite: I was comparing to the <$5 cheapies on eBay. Sabrent PS5 heatsink will be good when it's released here.

              • @Clear: Oh yeah for sure.

True, It's about $40 on amazon.com.au, shipped from US

  • Is the Aqara Smart Home pack a good deal?

  • Nice, not the best prices but & the 3060 was sold out at 9am this morning.

    • The products in the title certainly are the best prices from what I can see.

      • Yeah, currently the best offers about. Crucial P2 2TB for $207 on Amazon reflects poorly on the MX500 but a good option if you don't have a spare M.2 slot. MX500 2TB is a decent SSD too, been running on in my gaming PC for a year now.

        • I'd avoid the Crucial P2 as they pulled the old switcheroo and it now uses QLC flash that's been found to perform significantly worse than before. Like so bad that once the pSLC cache is exhausted (since it's DRAMless) the speeds drop down to HDD speeds or worse.

  • Gosh, wd blue is confusing. That sn550 gen 3 is tlc?
