Samsung The Frame QLED 4K Smart TV (2021) 50" $1295 + Delivery ($0 C&C/ in-Store) @ JB Hi-Fi

170

Similar to this recent posted deal here however only the 50" size is discounted at the moment. Not the cheapest pricing ever but close enough, stack with discounted JB giftcards, Amex Black Friday card offer, or Him/Her/Kids GC for additional savings. Also not sure when this deal will end

I picked my TV up today from in-store, if you buy online and ship it will cost $19.99 (might change depending on location). Recommended to buy shipping online if you have a small car and not enough people to help you bring it around. I could only fit this size flat in my hatchback which apparently they only recommend driving with it upright..

Sorry I stuffed the title, I meant to say the price is $1295 only for the 50" variant, no discounts on the other sizes

    • Could've sworn the other size variants were on sale too.. back to normal price now though.

Edit: All back to normal price now.

Not even 24 hours. I put it off to research and compare to the Q60T I was interested in.
Decided on this and now back to normal.. stuff that.

Different strokes for different folks haha. Hard to be a puppet if my account is made in 2017 you think? I just lurk thats all

No way you can use an OLED as wall art

  • Is 100Hz as good as it gets with the Samsung 4K lineup? Looking to replace my 2011 FHD TV, but not liking the thought of dropping from 200Hz.

    • 200hz is fake news

      • Not fake when it's internal processing, doesn't mean the panel has to be native 200HZ, just how they do interpolation etc.

        • +1

That's exactly how it's fake. "internal processing" blurs it the nice/poor way, so you feel 200Hz when your display is only 50 or 100Hz. Personally, I hate it.

          • @pizzaguy: No it's not fake, it still processes the image at 200 HZ

            • @[Deactivated]: Yeah, it's a 100% genuine ~30 Hz movie/transmission processed to 200 Hz by the internals, then displayed at 50 or 100 Hz by the display itself.

A similar marketing gimmick as with digital zoom in cameras. Not denying that some people find it useful or good.

I can see the the difference watching things at 60 Hz instead of 30 Hz, it's nice and feels organic. All the TVs processing the picture to look like twice the panel's nominal rate look unnatural to me and are prone to glitches in picture.

    • Samsung do 120HZ native 4K, that's the newer HDMI 2.1 protocol so a much higher refresh rate. Good for pc maybe if you have the GPU to drive it but very rarely something you would use imo.

      • Do you know which models that is on?

Still occasionally use Nvidia 3D vision on the TV (sim rig) so would like at least 120Hz (though more often using VR now).

Samsung website lists Motion 200 on the 2021 Frame TV, looks like JB just got it wrong and put 100.

Other than that from what I can see in this years models it's anything above the Q60A.

        • Q70A and above, I have a Q60R 2018 model and love it, for gaming I opted the non dimming one as I did not want any anomalies or pops in gaming, Comes with Freesync advanced, VRR ALLM and 120 HZ native.
I just checked Samsung's website and they report back only 100HZ for the frame with no gaming features what so ever for the 50 inch.

Holding out for some deals on their 65 or 75 inch TVs

  • Anyone have the receipt for that one
