  • Meh, already at $230ish from some 1 2 retailers..

  • whats the cheapest method to port out and back in? (I'm currently on this sim with Telstra)

    • +1

I just did the $5 Vodaphone ($30 of credit) as an add on to the SimOnline offer (link 2 from Big Deal's comment above) when I bought the $300 Telstra SIM.

    • You don't need to port out and back in.
Go into a Telstra Shop if you can and they will swap your number onto the new sim on the spot. Including an eSim (as I did).

      • even if i’m currently on the exact same sim with telstra? I thought you can’t port from telstra to telstra

        • my 12 month Telstra Prepaid sim had 2 days left. They cancelled the current sim and moved my existing phone number to the sim in the new starter kit… For me, they then converted the physical sim to an eSim.

          • @ozzieozzieozzie: nice to know!
curious, I assume they didn’t let you roll over data?
if you recharge normally, you get to bank the data you didn’t use in the previous 12 months

            • @unknown-entity: correct, doing it the way I did, you forfeit unused data.
I only use mine as a second eSim for my personal phone number and main work sim for data, so data is irrelevant to me.

              • @ozzieozzieozzie: cool, makes sense

Were the staff iffy at all about doing this method? How many times have you done this? Seems like most people have to go to the trouble of port out port in.
