50% off Long Expiry SIM: 60GB for 365 Days $60, 165GB for 365 Days $100 @ amaysim

741

Amaysim is having a Black Friday sale:
50 per cent off for long expiry plan
1. 60G for 365 days for only $60 (normally $120)
2. 165G for 365 days for only $100 (normally $200)
3. 150G for 180 days for $75 (normally $150)

For those who wanted a long expiry plan, I think this is the cheapest so far (better than the Coles Mobile deal)

They also have
1. Unlimited data banking (Coles mobile was limited to 50G)
2. Unlimited calls and text (local)
3. International calls for $100 and the $75 plans

They also have some specials on short term plans, but I was only interested in the long term plans.

Good try on your first post.

Check OZB TOP deal and you will find your post is not only a duplicate but this other deal combined with Cashrewards special is even sweeter

    • Hi MIrage
Thanks, I got confused with the Cashrewards title. Thanks

      • Didn't read that post description, so didn't buy that deal due to the confusion of the deal title :(

    • Just new to this cashrewards system. Does this deal still works? (Cashrewards link takes to the monthly plans instead of long expiry ones)

    • Many many thanks. Done.

    Good deal, but better here,
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/666005
    Nag to warn others.
You can get $30 or $45 cash back through cash rewards.

Expired now, so Op deal is actually good for now.

    • +3

amaysim say no restriction, i can buy today and activate next november if i wanted to.

Its a bit inconsistent their customer service.

  • +1

It must be activated by 31st December.

  • Sorry, I didn't realise it was posted before. Happy to take it down. I got confused with the Cashreward offer.
I was with Amaysim, and I was going to jump to Coles Mobile. But when I check with Amaysim, their offer was even better. They were happy to extend the offer to me even though I was an existing customer for $70 for 60G.

    • Sorry see my question below

  • How did you get them to extend? Via chat?

  • +1

    I called them up.

  • Do you have to be a new user?

    • Yes, have to port over

  • I think for this deal you do. I was not a new user, so I called them up, and I was offered $70 for the 60G 365days plan.

  • What is Amaysim like to deal with. Is the port over smooth. Do they have any support

    • Very good, i just ported over from Telstra yesterday. On the phone like 5 mins to verify my details, then my number was pretty much ported over instantly.

  • :( just got a Coles 120 GB / $ 95 sim :(

    • +1

You are not the only one.

Look at this way, you get an extra 60GB plus you can call some places Internationally for free.

Flip side for me, 60GB would be enough for me and I would not call anyone Internationally, so the $60 deal would of been enough for me…. :(

Cannot return these either, oh well.

Or see it pay an extra $5 for extra 45GB data plus more countries to call.

      • Flip side for me, 60GB would be enough for me and I would not call anyone Internationally, so the $60 deal would of been enough for me…. :(

        me too :(

      • you could have gotten 45 dollars cash back which would make it 40 dollars cheaper than coles with the extra data and international calling.

sorry, I know I'm being an ahole here.

  • Is there a limitation on activation date? If not using Cashrewards

    • Chat says 30 days from purchase date

  • What is defined as a "new customer"? Phone number or identity?

  • It is phone number. I have an account with them already, and I could add extra phone number for my children with the specials

  • What does it mean first renewal? My amaysim prepaid is about to expire, does it mean that I can use this deal as my “first renewal”

  • When I purchase the plan, it asks me to transfer my number, and says "Transferring your number is free, and typically takes between 3 hours and 3 days to transfer over."

Does anyone know when the transfer will be triggered and how long will the transfer take? Will the trigger the transfer even I didn't receive my SIM card?

    • +1

You’ll get the sim and you then have to activate for the transfer process to begin.

  • On the T&C's it mentions if you run out of data is $10 a GB. It also says something about automatically recharges.

But is the automatic recharge in regards to the whole plan at the end of 12 months or is it in relation to at anytime you have run out of data?

    • whenever I have used amaysim I have disabled auto recharge in my account settings. I can't remember if you can remove your payment details from the account.

  • Does anyone know if I can I buy for another family member (who will activate it under their name) and we still get the $21 cashback from either Shopback or cashrewards?

  • I would sign up for this immediately if amaysim supported conference calls.

  • I want to renew my existing plan, is it possible without porting out and in again?

    • +1

Saw a report of an existing user getting this deal for $70. Speak to support. YMMV.

  • I have 8 days remaining with telstra on a 12 month prepaid plan which I was going to renew. With a $200 difference in price I am looking at this alternative. If I signed up for this will I have sufficient time to receive the new sim and start the porting of my existing number.

    • +1

i wouldn't count on it. You will be lucky to get the sim card in time.

    • why don't you do a chat and see what they can come up with? You might be able to get a cheap Amaysim sim from a supermarket and get them to load this deal on it? I am an existing customer and they never have an issue matching these deals if you ask nicely. I just changed my plan to this one (I had 19 days left of my old 12 month plan) sure I lost 19 days, but I get this for $60 instead of $120, although they were going to give me $21 credit next month if I waited (to match the $99 deal that finished end of last month that my husband got, so this works out better anyway.

  • Just new to this cashrewards system. Does this deal still works? (Cashrewards link takes to the monthly plans instead of long expiry ones)

    • Try again. Link works for me

  • Is there a date the SIM card must activate by? I'm hoping if I can get the deal now and now activate and port the existing number until late January?

    • +2

      By end of Dec 2021

  • I missed the Cashrewards deal - boo! But even so, this is a great deal OP!
Thank you for the post :).

  • thanks for this. My 12 month plan was going to expire in 19 days, but I did a chat and got them to give me the promo price. Sure I missed out on 19 days of the old plan, but who cares for $60?

  • How long does it take amaysim SIM pack to be delivered? by Auspost?

My plan with Boost will expire in 7 days. In case the SIM arrives after my Boost plan expired, can I still port in?

I had bad experience with Optus before. Been using Boost (Telstra network) for the last 3 years and very happy with it. Not sure if Optus coverage has had any improvement in inner Melbourne?

    • 2 to 10 business days is what I've been quoted.
If you're in a hurry, this is the advice via live chat

For the plan $60 60GB on the website you must buy that from our website in order for you to take advantage of the plan but you can use a $2 SIM card from a retail shop and you can use that for replacement, so here's what you will need to do here you need to first buy the $2 SIM card and after buying the $2 SIM card you can purchase the plan online once that is done you can contact us right away so that we can help you link the SIM card on your account once you completed the order.
You can grab a $2 SIM from one of our many retail partners. Just use this link to find out the store closest to you http://www.amaysim.com.au/my-account/store_locator

      • On cashrewards one of the conditions is: "Cashback is ineligible on amaysim SIMs bought from retail stores/outlets."

Guess we wouldn't be able to get the cashback if we do it that way?

        • oh, right. i didn't see that part. you are very likely correct.

    • +1

I bought an Amaysim SIM on 17th, still hasn't arrived in Melbourne Metro. Don't hold your breath.

    • I followed the live chat instructions and did the transfer Sunday late afternoon, and the port over was almost instant. Boost to Amaysim.

      • What's the process in using the $2 sim from store?

        • the instructions above are a direct quote from the live chat person.

Once you buy the $2 sim from 7-Eleven or wherever, you get on live chat, and they will pretty much guide you through the process. They will link your new amaysim plan to the $2 sim.

    • My plan with Boost will expire in 7 days. In case the SIM arrives after my Boost plan expired, can I still port in?

Yes. Most telcos don't terminate your service the moment you run out of credit. There's a grace period (of varying length) where you can still receive calls and texts but can't make them. This is enough to port out.

Just be careful if it's kogan. You get about 2 weeks and then you're locked from even receiving calls and texts, which means you can't port without their help.

      • Thanks. Bought the SIM, do you know if Optus has Visual Voicemail?

I've been using Boost, which sends voicemail as an MMS audio file.

        • i'm not sure, I have never seen it

  • Are these offers eligible for referral credits?

  • I went to buy this for my son - but it wants me to enter his mobile number and says it will transfer over in 3 days.

Is this only after activation? Or will it happen as soon as I make the purchase?

I want to buy tonight and then activate just before 31 December.

    • Transfer only begins after activation.

  • +1

ah damn missed this. so quick! anyone have any more low GB cheap 365 day SIM plans?

  • Did anyone purchase this, and it came pre-activated? I am hoping to activate it before 31-Dec, but it came delivered preactivated and on the account it is showing as Active and next renewal as 28-Nov.

    • +1

Give them a call, they extended the number of days for me when a similar thing happened in the past.

  • damn, wish I bought this 165GB for 365 Days for $100

  • If I bought one (not part of cash back deals) does it matter when I activate?
