Dick Smith 9" Dual Screen Portable DVD Player - $124

160

I just bought one of these and it's BRILLIANT!! If you have kids and do a lot of travelling this will save your sanity. It's HALF off the normal price of $249.00 at $124.00.

BTW…the screen is HUGE.

  • i bought one of these a year ago and have hardly used it…

kids prefer to play or watch movies on our iphones…

So did mine but on a long haul (Camden to Brissy) the iPhones would cause car sickness :-(

Whole reason I got it :-)

Maybe just the way you drive…..lol

in all seriousness (is that a word?) 2 of my mates cant play computer games because they get vertigo yet they can sit all day at a computer.
No issues watching movies on the PC either.

It seems their brains struggle to process the fast moving images in gaming?

Surprisingly jv failed to mention it, so here goes. "PRICE IN TITLE"

  • Any AV input?

      Any jv input?

how does this work? can you use them independently and just carry them around? (are they linked together by any wires?)
I'm assuming one is a master (with drive) and the other is just a slave screen is that correct?

    • +7

I was wondering the same but my understanding is that jv is the master and all other members are his slaves.

      • nice one!

  • I take it these come with car chargers?

If you had clicked through and looked at the specs you would see…

Boxed Contents : DS 9" Twin Screen Port Media Player, 2 Stereo earphones, Two Headrest mounting bags, Screen-link connection cable, Car power adapter, AC adapter, Remote control and User Manual.

  • I had a similar 7 inch Olin set from Kmart which got stolen. The master unit had a rechargable battery so you could use it with the car off for a couple of hours (or outside the car). Can anyone who has this unit tell me if it also has a battery built in.

  • Website says 'in stock', order status page says 'Your order is on backorder and will be shipped when available.'

  • No inputs from AV devices so no porting an iPod or iPhone to it. Wasn't expecting this from something this inexpensive.

Fits the bill for the price. Hope other stores have some in stock .

BTW…I went with a pair of Phillips over-the-ear headphones for $19.62 a piece at Officeworks. Will keep the car noise out better than the ear-bud ones that come with it.
