Helpful instructions but shame it is serial only - I don't like fiddling around with soldering etc. The OTA flashable chips are getting rarer :(
homekit is for apple users? and if you have android, you wont need?
You don’t beed them to make it work, it’s for convenience… generally you can bridge to HomeKit or google, though Google I think has more cloud based requirements
