As if Harvery Normans Game sale wasnt enough, this one could be bigger!

Dick Smith are apparently getting out of the games market so they are selling off all stock.

          I was at DSE brisbane CBD Queen st mall with a friend. He asked the lady about the Nintendo DSI, she told him that it has all been reserved then she took about 3-4 DSI off the shelf. A staff told us that the sale is on April 11 and that we were wrong. Looks like you won't see much items being sold as it may seem the staff are keeping it to themselves. Surely you won't reserve 3-4 DSI for a single buyer.

    Here's my guess. Probably move all stock to the online store where they'll sell it for normal prices. What's left (Ones that have damaged boxes, etc) might be cleared at these prices - If they have any stock ;-)

      Dick Smith is being sold off and this sale is probably being done to trim the business and make it more profitable before sale. DSE's games section has always looked a bit sad. Dozens of titles that take up valuable shelf space and have probably been there for weeks if not longer. BigW has a games section many times larger and often with keener pricing. In my region the two stores are within a few hundred metres of each other. Why duplicate the business?

      Electronics are a commodity business now (sorry Gerry Harvey) and especially so for games. DSE can't compete with dedicated stores and online competition from England. As a Woolworths shareholder I welcome the sale and the sale of DSE.

      Monday can't come soon enough. If I stack my backlog, I think it will surpass my height, and some. 1.63m but still, that's just my backlog.

    I wish this was real, so that Christmas would come 9 months early for me. But I also know that April Fool's day has been brought forward 3 days early too, so I am guessing there will be a clearance sale, but short of the prices listed in the list, and this is just a marketing ploy to attract more publicity so that people will come and buy the items at a higher but not as low as expected prices. . Dicksmith, please prove me wrong and tell me this is not true, so that Christmas can come early for all of us.

    It seems like not everything is a super low price I was just looking at the Wii stuff it shows the
    Wii Console - Black $188.00 according to the JBHIFI site they have it for $149 including game and some accessories http://www.jbhifi.com.au/games/nintendo/wii/ Just pointing it out as I'm not much of a gamer so don't know what standard pricing is verses super bargain pricing :)
