If they're gonna run schemes like this, they should allow us to buy and sell points on the private market.
This is a pretty poor deal for buying points. If they did introduce an open market for points then flybuys points will convert at 10:1 (or worse) or the airlines would introduce a significant "transfer fee" which would likely be paid in dollars not points.
That would be a fascinating market to see. Wonder what the going rate would be for QFF points or Velocity…
On the "black" market they seem to sell for about 1c per point, but if the market was legitimised, who knows!
How do you find these markets?
Looked up a Mel to Syd flight = $69. Or 11,700 points (which cost $353, but hey they are doing 20% discount so a bargain :-(
i always wonder is it worth to transfer point to velocity, or just keep my amex point & redeem gift card with my card issuer?
