SanDisk 1TB Portable SSD $129 (Bonus $20 WD E-Gift Card via Redemption) Delivered @ Shopping Express

860

Round 2 on this deal since it wasn't possible to update the previous one. This is not the Extreme model sorry my mistake. It's just the standard SanDisk portable SSD but still a good price none the less.

It has USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 and as a bonus you can get a $20 e-gift card from WD via redemption and 31st of December on eligible WD SSDs.

There's also a WD Black SN750 1TB M.2 NVMe SSD on sale for $149 with free shipping that's eligible for the e-gift card.

This one or Samsung T7 for Mac?

    • +3

      T7

      • +4

        T7 100%

    • Neither, Thunderbolt 3 based external SSD.
Okay, jokes aside, between those 2, yes, T7. But, $109 if you factor in the cashback is attractive though.

    • +3

This one is better because it has the red rubber hook to hang on your keyring

    • I got the T7 last week. JB had it for $149 and I used the $20 discount for using Afterpay.

The price went up but you could try to get a price match for it?

  • Can we connect this to a router

    • +4

If the router has a USB port, then yes. But SSD might be an overkill for a router, as it's pretty expensive and you won't utilize its speed.

    • +1

It depends. Some routers don’t have the ability to read ssd, for example my stupid d-link. Works fine with the portable HDd tho. Prob power requirements

  • Anyone have any opinions on using one of the Sandisks (likely the model above this) or T7 for running an external boot of Mac OS on an ssd? Any advantages to either?

    • I run OSX from a T5 over USB2 & it's fast enough for me. This is in an older iMac where the internal HDD is burning hot when it runs so I bypassed it. If you have USB3 or better, it'll probably feel like a standard SSD.

  • dang… bought one on 29/11… missed promotion.

  • Anyone knows what's in it? Removable?

    who would ever need 1TB.

    • +7

You're right. I need several more, because the several that I have are already full.

    • Why would the Samsung be any better for storing important files?

  • When u submit the claim form, do you receive any confirmation?

    • Yup but email went straight to my spam folder

      • Thanks. It's in my junk mail as well.

  • How do I know if 2000 redemption already happened?
