Some seem a bit overpriced but understand it accounts for shipping (my local sells for $2 each satya but no shipping cost or discount).
Unsure what the deal is.
If each cost $2.50, even if you manage to buy 48, even after the discount, you have to pay $60.

It's the reason why I didn't buy any, it's too much of an upfront cost for too many incence sticks. I'd rather buy a couple when they're discounted at my local Indian shop, or even just buying them as needed at full price.
