What's the daily cap on eBay gift card purchases?

    • +8

True Rewards sets a daily cap limit of $500 spread out across all cards (except Amazon $100) on Cashrewards. So if you've not purchased any cards in the last 24 hours, you should be able to buy 10 eBay GCs across separate transactions. Again, please note this restriction is imposed by True Rewards (not Cashrewards). Thanks.

      • +2

        Hmmm…
PSA: If you work for the "ATO" make sure you ask for payment in Amazon GCs.

  • +26

Great deal, but gonna sit this one out. Can't really find much to buy from ebay nowadays.

    • +2

Also I think can’t stack with other offers

    • Same, I bought some before, still waiting to see what to buy.

  • +6

Can I buy multiple in one txn?

  • cap no cap

  • 11% cashback doesnt sound as good as $5 bonus for $50 purchase, but it definitely is. Only question is how many…

    • -1

Definitely doesn't look as good as $5 off $20/$25/$30 or $10 off $50 though.

This is however good for those who are looking to spend up to $350 in a single eBay transaction.

  • +11

Warning using a gift card instead of paypal gives you less coverage if something goes wrong as you need to resolve with ebay which has a more restrictive set of T&Cs

    • +5

i wouldn't buy from a small / not good reputation seller, nor any expensive item with eBay giftcard. We all know how good Paypal is to protect our bum

    • Resolving my issue of getting a counterfeit item was good with eBay.

    • +1

If it's an eBay plus item you're OK though as you can return easy

    • Good to know

  • Multiple transactions permitted

Does that mean no limit? Can get multiple $50 cards?

Also, will the cards be issued quickly? Last time I had to wait till the next day to get the digital codes.

  • How many GC can be used on one eBay purchase?

    • +5

8 codes total, but that also includes discount codes, so effectively 7.

  • As per other's question, do we have to buy 1 gift card each time and come back to CR for that "multiple transactions"?

    • +2

      Yes.

  • +1

How long do they take to issue the gift card codes?

    • +2

Generally instant for me via True Rewards.

  • +2

    Site still shows 1%

lol jk, I know it starts at 2pm. Just here for giggles

    • +2

      How about now? :)

  • -3

Only option for Cashback once SB ditches you out of offers, starts to target OzB users, Wont even bother looking at their $2 CB on $20 GC offer.

  • This applies for a nice discount on the Mi 34" Widescreen. Pretty sure its 7 gift cards + code (so approx $40 off).

  • I never buy from eBay anymore, but it would stack nice when Vinomofo do 15-22% off.

  • Looking to buy some 5600x + mobo combo once there is a nice deal on eBay, probably from gg.tech?

So question, would these gift cards work with code if there is any from experience?

    Thanks guys.

Cashrewards never tracked my purchase. Even last week when I spent $10 (spend $10 get $10 back offer) it tracked $9.09 (without GST) where t&C says $10 with GST is okay.

    • for some reason a ton of amazon stuff didn't track, lost out on a lot of bonus offers, sigh.

      • @mokr, did they track at $0 cashback (check your acct). If so, you purchased from ineligible categories.

    • @ScoMosas, please read the terms of the bonus offer you received:

Sales may report to Cashrewards ex GST so the amount shown in your account may be less than $10. You will still be eligible for the bonus.

    • +1

Yeah, cashrewards tracking can be iffy. Also, last time I purchased eBay gift cards from them, took them hours to process.
I also don't know why they love running these when an eBay code is expiring on the day. Last time I had to pay normally as the cards didn't get issued till the next day.

As TA has stated so many times, Cashrewards is not responsible for issuing GCs - their partner TrueRewards are.

        • TA PM'ed me. He's been helpful to us.

I'd better give people the full context. Yes, on that day, it looked like we OZB'ed TrueRewards and TrueRewards couldn't cope. I know my luck. Other OZBers will once again get in before me.

    • Cashrewards never tracked my purchase.
Even last week when I spent $10 (spend $10 get $10 back offer) it tracked $9.09 (without GST)

      Which is it?
      Also, terms said:

      • Sales may report to Cashrewards ex GST so the amount shown in your account may be less than $10. You will still be eligible for the bonus.

      So you should be fine.

  • Do these stack with ebay discount codes?

    • +1

Yep. I've never had an issue paying by gift card and also using a discount code. Different to applying 2 discount codes.

  • SB having 2dlr off 20 dlr GC promo from 12pm to midnight

    • +3

      dlr

first time to see bucks abbreviated like that

  • So no limit per acc?

  • Will the page go down once you run out or will the rate go back down to 1%?

I'd prefer not buying any at the lower rate.

    • +15

Once stock is depleted at 11%, True Rewards will remove the card altogether and you simply won't be able to purchase eBay GCs at any rate. They will reinstate all denominations later tonight at the old rate. Hope this helps :)

      • +4

I like this, better than purchasing and then not getting the special discount.

      • Nice, thanks for the reply .

  • +1

Can I use the Cashrewards credit on my account to purchase the gift card?

or it is actually through a third party website?

    • You will be redirected to True Rewards when clicking 'Shop Now'

  • unable to access cashrewards website…

    • +2

      No problems here

    • +1

All ok here, grabbed 2 in separate transactions…

  • What was the trick to remove your CC details from True Rewards once you have finished?

    • +4

To unlink your card from True Rewards, (1) go to payment for another gift card, (2) go to checkout - just before hitting pay you will see your card details, (3) click the bin icon and it will be removed.

  • Thanks OP, the tracking is instant!

  • Thanks TA, bought two, basically instant tracking. Love it!

  • Got 2. Thanks OP.

  • done two transactions, only one transaction showed up in Cashrewards now. Do I must use different accounts?

    • Wait a few minutes.

      • thank you

  • +2

Only one tracked at the moment.

  • I ordered 2 cards none tracked yet

    • Please confirm that both tracked. Thank you.

  • +1

Got 10, 9/10 tracked.. so far.. one more coming I guess..

    Edit: All tracked now

    Thanks Tightarse!

    • 10 cards in one account? Why I reach the limit when bought 5…

  • Thanks OP. Bought two.

  • Just tried to purchase second one and it was successfully tracked the cashback :)

    • Purchase 4, all got tracked but yet received the fourth ebay gift card, is it some sort of delay from true rewards site?

      • Easy fix (provided it's not in your junk folder). Give TR a call… very receptive :)

For queries regarding the purchase of your Digital Gift Card, contact True Rewards on 1800 850 739 Mon-Fri 9am-5pm Syd time (excluding public holidays), or email [email protected]

        • Thanks TA, just called them and got it now. The call going through customer representative straight away, it was easy fix as you mentioned. Cheers

  • bought two but only one got tracked

    • My first 2 tracked, the 3rd hasn't, I was almost going to grab a 4th but I'm not sure I want to risk it…

      • recieved the second email few minutes later, so both tracked for me now.

      • +1

Please give it 5-10 minutes between each purchase to track. Thanks.

  • 4 thanks OP!

  • Not tracked yet, purchased just now

    • All coming through fine at $5.50. If yours shows $0.50, means you clicked prior to 2pm. Check your click history.

You edited your comment that you tracked at $0.50?

      • +1

        Hi TA,

$0.50 was for previous purchase, my bad.

but now waiting for it track.

        Tracked fine.

        • +1

          Thanks for confirming :)

  • bought 10 and gradually got all tracked (7 confirmation in 12mins) thanks OP!
