Atrocious customer service. Once Qantas has your money they treat you like absolute crap. They make you wait hours upon hours on the phone and then hang up on you. Avoid! Avoid! Avoid!

Virgin is much much cheaper and they answer the phone straight away.

    • Dickie, is that you?

Virgin left me waiting at Sydney airport for four hours. Then they put my bags on a different flight. Another two hours wait in Brisbane. Not even an apology

  • Had to call Qantas today, was on hold for 2.5hrs.

Lodged a complaint advised it would take at least 5 days to get back to me…. which is after my flight.

    Shareholders before customers.

MEL/NRT (Tokyo) @ 799 seems reasonable. Got some Amex travel credits to use.

Shame we can't get the US tkts down closer to $1k. Assume Joyce wants to keep the margins high to make up for a horrible two years. Vancouver would be a ripper deal around $1k, but at $1.7 then it's a wait for me.

  • Looks like the $99 flights don't start until end of April , but they can give you the "bargain" price from $202 one way Sydney to Melbourne.

  • Full service with a happy ending?

Together Once More - but not you, or you, or you

Or if you want to use up your crappy Amex $450 travel voucher on a melb to Syd flight for 2 adults and a 4 yr old
    $1,373.34 minus the $450 so &923.34
When they stung me $1800 for a Christmas Bali flight due to a Jetstar strike at Christmas 2 years ago I found the service to be very poor for what I had paid.

  • Fly enough and every airline will screw you over. On average Qantas is pretty good …
