I actually recently purchased a Dell Studio and wanted to point out how upset I am with it. The sound on it is pathetic, I previously had an Inspiron which ran circles around the sound. I've had it less than a week and am tempted to return the machine.
I have an Inspiron and the sound isn't amazing, and listening through the headphone socket is worse as you can hear electrical noise. I had to get USB headphones.
That is correct Scupper, but I find the Studio to be far far worse.
External optical audio out via USB box - annoying but effective.
hmm… my Dell Latitude D810 has incredible sound, both speaker wise and amplification from the headphone jack.
Then again, it cost $4500 back when I bought it a few years ago!
Worth it just for the 10% off coupon (which is valid to November 27th)
