Looking for Private Camping Spot in Rural Victoria over NYE

Hi Ozbargainers,

This is a real long shot….

Looking to go camping with a group of 8-10 friends staying on a farmland in Rural Victoria from the 31 Dec - 2nd Jan.

It is a difficult time of year for accomodation and we have left it late so seeing if anyone owns a farm they would be willing to rent out some of their land for $$$.

We would follow a 'Leave No Trace' Policy.

        Not implying this is op but…

        So for $200 you would risk having a convoy of 10 lifted hiluxes with over flowing eskies camp and start a fire on your property and probably leave it trashed and human waste everywhere.

        I would even allow it for $2000.

        Not worth the risk if you don't personally know the campers.

    It may be worth spending the few few bucks on Wikicamps, it lists almost every free and paid camp in the country, it may help you find something:

    What would you be prepared to pay for a campsite, with no facilities, say 100km NE of Melbourne in pristine undulating country side?

      Thanks mate :) Don't stress we have been looking at Hipcamp but wanted to see what the Ozbargain community could provide - who knows.

      One of my mates has met him a few times whilst out hunting, says he’s pretty much harmless and it’s another case of the media and social media sensationalising nothing.
