    What's the bargain?

  • At this price thats a good tool.

They're about $15 each size at tradetools; so thats a decent saving.

  • Always wanted to try these. Thanks OP!

They're very far from new. My father got his first set in the 60s; but they were a sort of forgotten product in the retail world.

If they're as strong as the ones you can buy at tradetools, they're fantastic.

Honda use some odd numbered torx bolts in their suspension (so; tight). Hanging off an identical product (but different brand) with an 'extension' jack handle for leverage, undid all 6 of them, no dramas.

They're probably the most useful tool ive owned.

They're like a shifter, with less chance of slipping.

Review: I have these, this exact set.
I was stupid and paid alot more for these, because i fell for the sales pitch and excitment of the 4WD show in Sydney 2 years ago.

As a tool, theyre great, i have used them multiple times, the grip is solid and once you get a good grip on the bolt, it locks in.
in a pinch, when you dont have the right size, or cant be bothered looking through your cluster fudge toolbox to find it. yank this badboy and you can fix the pipe thats now got your wife wet, hot and bothered.

    constructive feedback:
    1. Hard to get an actual grip on the bolt. the bolt head has to be perfectly hexa and strong for this to not lose its grip.
    2. Can only work if you have the space around the bolt to move it around. If its a tigh spot, like most automotive bays are, this makes it useless. there is no telescope option.
2A. BUT if its on a flat surface, you will struggle to get your fingers between the two.
    3. can shave the bolt head off it you put too much pressure.
    4. the small tool will snap if you tug it like you're used to using your other small tool, lube it first.

In closing, if you have the money, buy a proper toolkit and keep it organized, i dont like putting my hands into my dumpster fire toolkit.
if you dont have the money, space or patience, and want to support TVSN, buy this.
