If this doesn't include a balance, I'm sure they'll hit you up for that at the same time.

    • Good point. You'd want a rotation done too which is $20 or so extra.

  • i tried to make a booking with them previously..

i wonder would it be worse off with the scoopon.

  • +1

Be careful - it states 'not available at commercial stores' yet still lists them in their list of stores on the Scoopon site. Very misleading.

  • I thought an alignment+balance+rotation is normally about $70 all up anyway?

edit: wrong, align only. see below

I see how this works. You pay now, must wait a week to print it, then it expires in a few months.
Half the people forget about it and Scoupon keeps all their money. Good model.

    • Scoupon keeps all the money regardless… They are not going to see a cent for this $20 'special'.

  • Last week wanted to buy 4tyres & do a wheel alignment/balancing & rotation @ BR. (Because last time I bought 4 tyres from them)

These guys advertise 10% off for RACV members, but they say they only give 10% off for 'selected' tyres and also NOT for wheel alignment/balancing.

Thank you very much Beaurepair went to Bob Jane T-Mart got it done for almost half the price these guys quoted.

    Not recommended at all!

Hi, just had a chat with Beaurepaires store in Western Sydney. He says $20 coupon would take $20 off of the total price so $75 alignment would cost me $55. Total cost for Alignment + Balancing = $105.

Then I called again after confirming with Scoopon website (which says $68 value), now I have been told that $68 value is of Front wheels alignment only and then he said I will have to pay $37 more for the rear wheels alignment. Balancing is $7.50 per balance but I will for some reason pay $50 for 4-tyre balancing.

Good that I called to book an appointment BEFORE I bought the coupon!

Misleading text on Scoopon deal AND a dogdy service provider (probably at a specific location)!

    • I just called Beaurepaires Melville.
He was not aware of Scoupon, but said that $68 was a thrust alignment.
Balancing is not included, but that comes as part of the tyre cost.

I don't know what they're talking about, a wheel alignment is only for the front wheels. It's to do with your steering being out of alignment…
So unless you drive one of the rare 4 wheel steer.

      • -1

Plenty of cars need a four wheel alignment, not just four wheel steerers.

      • +1

The rear wheels need alignment of camber and toe just as much as front wheels.

    • nice find. nearlly trapped.

  • Is this front and rear alignment for $20??? Don't care about balance or rotation

    Edit: front wheels only.

haha, just watched the superbowl episode of the simpsons (S10E12)… scared it'll happen to me, although I think I need one after my car got out of the smash repairs.

Usually I would grab this deal, but with the lack of communication between stores, their head office and Scoopon, it's too much of a risk.

  • Do you trust someone to spend that little extra time to give you a perfect wheel alignment (probably a hours labour for a good job it they take the time to do all four wheels, toe-in, camber and caster) when you a paying them less than $20, especially given that its not the guy who owns the store who dreamt up this promotion.

After calling two BR more centres, it seems they haven't been informed about this deal yet. So probably that is why the person that I called first was just coming up with "innovative" ways of getting a customer.

The other two centres said $60/$78 for 4-wheel alignment and $28/$40 for wheel balancing. Couldn't say how Scoopon vouchers would be entertained before next week.

I suggest you call up the centre nearest to you to book an appointment mentioning the Scoopon deal BEFORE you actually buy the Scoopon offer. Once you are satisfied, then get the Scoopon deal.

    argh too confusing no deal

    Scoopon will never learn!

  • Nice find. But no deal.

(from scoopon) the fine print: "Valid for your choice of 2 or 4 wheel alignment"
good deal, but only if its true and if they do a proper job(aligning according the the manufacturer's specification and actually taking the time setting it to the spec)
-from my experience an alignment is only as good as how well its been done(time and care)
-even the dealer service might not do them well, not to mention the chain stores and independent shops
*if its not done properly, so what if its $2, thats a waste of $2 and more importantly the time for the waiting

    • Some good work and words there… :)

  • Why do they say "Professional Wheel Alignment" ?
Sounds like they have a mechanical engineer instead of a mechanic. Same as a Tradie Wheel Alignment, except your parking change is still where you left it.

another thing is that, from the comments the deal seems quite dodgy, especially with these chain stores
when u use it, u might stand firm and argue for a full 4 wheel alignment for $20, eventually u will probably win as its clearly stated on the deal.
BUT for $20 (still a lot of money by my stardard for someone probably just gonna randomly turn a few nuts and bolts), all they wanted to do is get u out the door ASAP, and serve the next full price paying customer. they might gonna take a spanner under the car, make a few poses, then thrash your car around the local streets, and the best u could wish for is that it isnt worse off.

  • When the stores know nothing of an arranged deal then neg from me.
No one would do a real 4 wheel alignment for $20… and if they did you would be going somewhere else to get it sorted … at full price.
    Scoupon… Dodgy again!

  • Anybody tried booking this in yet? How did you go?

    • Got it done today. No problems, no up-selling. Very professional.

      • Is there a choice on the kind of wheel alignment done? Because on the voucher it says "Valid for your choice of 2 or 4 wheel alignment".
