  • Site was slow, must be getting smashed hard

  • Is it any good?

I grabbed it anyway, free is free.

EDIT: gah, keep telling me "Your cookies appear to be disabled. In order to submit this form you need to enable your cookies."

    Its not even disabled..

    • Same here, stupid website.

    • I got that MSG at first, just try again.

    • I got that (eventually got passed it) and then the same error message with link emailed to me (retried numerous times using multiple browsers) :-(

I used this for a year (I imagine it was the 2010 version) when available free previously. I may not have read the small print, but after that year it 'expired' and proceeded to nag me about buying it… disappointing, and so am back to ccleaner. It does offer a good suite of utilities, but I am beginning to think it is easy to overdo the maintenance we all learned when running Windows XP.

      Agree … things have changed.

  • Nice find :)

  • This is "last years version" but I grabbed it anyway.

    Isn't free software.

    For the truly uninitiated: http://www.tweakguides.com/TGTC.html

That's all the tuning up you'll ever need to do. Until you reformat.

Over 400 pages of tweaking advice covering everything from how to build a friggin' PC (or overclock it properly) and going down to how to get rid of the shortcut arrows on icons.
Links you to all the best freeware currently available.

"Tune-Up" utilities are nothing but a compilation of freeware, registry hacks and control panel configuration you should never, ever have to pay for.

Much more valuable (as a learning tool) and thorough to do it yourself.

Thanks for the info. I'll look into it!

  • Sorry, but I'm going to have to neg this one. I got the 2010 version free last year. After a while it wouldn't let me do anything (expired) and nagged me to purchase the new version. I don't think it's worth it for the temporary utility.

It didn't make all that difference to my pc either. I can see why it would be useful for some people. It gave some good advice about programs that haven't been used for a while and could probably be deleted. But really, it's just another program running in the background.

  • For those who are going to use this software, backup your system before installing.

    • whys that?

      • Because you should never ever make system changes to your PC without having a way of reverting back if it goes wrong. Especially with these "automatic" tools where you don't quite know what they are going to do. Take advice from those who have lost data due to not backing up….erm, not me, obvioulsy ;-(

  • I've used it in Win7 for last 2 years. I do find it good for Win7. 3 of my PC is running this.

  • Didn't get my product key after I entered in my email & clicked on the activation link.

    • I keep getting the same thing :-(

      • Dont bother with this software, just use the free tools from piriform.com which are all great and very useful..

  • Yep, I get the same error (as the people above me) when I click on the confirmation email.

  • I finally got through with the email link.
