iPad Pro 11-Inch 128GB Wi-Fi (2020) $788 Free C&C + Delivery @ The School Locker

581

This model is a year old and not the new M1 model, but the cheapest I have ever found an iPad Pro. Obviously the M1 completely destroys the still recent A12z in any task, but this model is still more than capable and beating anything in this price range. It is also about the same price as an iPad air but Pro-Motion, twice as much storage and better cameras makes it so much more of a better option and value.

Bought one for myself, have no idea why its so cheap but nothing is saying its refurbished so guessing it is brand new. There is an option for C&C but only one store is available. Does not mention how much is in stock but I'm guessing not many due to it being discontinued in most tech retailers.

Unfortunately cannot Price match with Officeworks because it has been replaced with the M1 in other stores… I guess School Locker just clearing out the 2020 stock.

Haha you're right but at this price range, I don't think anything can beat this deal. The new iPad Mini could match this performance but you lose out on extra storage and pro motion.

      • I think that a simple iPad at RRP $499 is a better deal for me, as I don't care about the camera, rather more interested in a more recent CPU and the expected life of the device.

        • Just a guess but last years iPad Pro CPU processor still stomps over the entry level ipad CPU. This is an excellent deal and Apple offers 5 years of OS updates.

@Icecold5000: I'm using an iPad Mini 5, and for my use, I don't need any more CPU power. It all depends on what you need it for. Why do people buy a $100k version of a car that can be had for $50k, most of the difference being the "Go Fast" engine and suspension, then driving it in the city with speed limits of 50km/h? I guess because they can, and that's fine.

            • -5

@mrau: Its $288 more not $50,000 more. If the cost is an issue for you then you shouldn’t be buying ipads in the first place as they are a luxury product not a necessity. The pro also has 128 gb of storage vs 64 making it objectively better.

              • @Icecold5000: Thanks for all the smart advice, I couldn't have thought of it myself.

@mrau: Same. What a guy. Bless

                • -3

@mrau: $288 is in the ballpark of what someone in a average $60k pa entry level job would earn on per day pre-tax basis. Obviously times are tough for people earning beneath this level so I do have some sympathy. I understand you need to prioritise other more essential spending.

Come back when you have an M1 for $788

    • I don't think your iMovie export time will care too much. This is an excellent deal nonetheless.

      The M1 completely destroys

M1 Price destroys it as well

  • Sold out? Tried to add one to cart "The requested quantity for "iPad Pro 11-inch (2nd Generation) Wi-Fi 128GB - Space Grey" is not available."
Also all stores listed as OOS.

    • it was in stock when I posted, did someone buy it out already? It's an older model so I suppose they didn't have much left… I'll find some deals for you

if u want a brand new iPad for the cheapest price, buy it through here: https://www.apple.com/au_edu_5000447/store
I've used it before and its a better version of the regular education store

  • I would wait for the Apple education store to have their free AirPods promo again and stock up on Apple gift cards in the meantime. Should be early January.

THIS COMPANY CANNOT BE TRUSTED. IN A PRIOR DEAL, I PURCHASED AN ITEM AND THEY WENT SO FAR AS INDICATING IT WAS SHIPPED AND PROVIDED ME WITH A SHIPMENT TRACKING NUMBER. AFTER A WHILE PASSED AND I DID NOT RECEIVE THE ITEM, I CONTACTED THEM AND WAS TOLD THE ITEM WAS OUT OF STOCK. THAT WAS OVER 6 MONTHS AGO. TODAY I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED A REFUND.

I CONSIDER WHAT THEY DID TO ME A FORM OF FRAUD.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY.

Maybe still left on someone's locker lmao

Charge back ? better do it asap, time is probably running out.

      • +5

Yes that is an option. However, it’s their willingness to pretend they’ve dispatched an item that’s reprehensible. Further, at the time of purchase, the website was showing dozens in stock (I was going to buy a bunch so I entered a high number and it accepted) despite them later claims goods were out of stock.

I’ll definitely get my money back, but I thought I’d let others know what can happen when you deal with this dishonest company.

        • +6

You will not definitely get your money back unless you do something about it, credit card company's usually have a time limit on charge backs, 6 months might be pushing it.

            @garetz:

6 months might be pushing it.

I got 12 months chargeback approved on AMEX with no hassles after purchasing a voucher for a store that closed down before I could use it.

No need to shout. Feel sorry for your experience.

      • +4

I'd probably shout too if I were them

        • -1

Not on an internet forum. Pretty sure you are more mature…

    • +1 very bad 1st and last experience with them, dragged on for over 6 months, gave up since it was a smaller amount and not worth the time anymore.

    • what did the SHIPMENT TRACKING NUMBER. show when you searched it up?

  • +6

    M1 overrated.

Source: I have an m1 lmfao

    • +2

Ipad or Mac. In a Ipad its basically like a V8 engine on a bloody pram

      • +2

Sorry thought it was obvious I was referencing the iPad. And let’s not get started on the hot mess that is iPad os 15. The only saving grace is the m1 probably has another good 5 years in it at this rate.

This company is part of HN group I guess.

    I’ve got this one myself.
Still consider it a fantastic purchase nearly 2 years on.
Very fast, great display, good speakers, Face ID and the pen (sold separately) is good with notability and other apps.

Would definitely recommend at this price. Don’t know much about the store per the comment above but I’d suggest there’s a fair trading refund you’d be entitled to.

  • Great price

  • This price is very similar to iPad Air 4 in Apple education store (especially with discount gift cards and probably free AirPods)
Compared to iPad Air 4 myself just now, it is hard to say which one is better. Put it simply, depends what features is more important to you.
This one has better and slightly bigger screen, better speakers, more RAMS, better camera, slightly slower overall performance (a12z vs a14), slightly thinner but slightly heavier.
Correct me if I am wrong, as I will buy an iPad Air 4 in next few months (during free airpod special), but I will also consider when older iPad Pro on special

I think I got the last one and The School Locker emailed me that it's an ex-demonstration model.
It's the first purchase from The school locker and not good experience.
