  • Good deal as it comes with the free Samsung SSD worth $85. Bought the z63 a week ago for $318

  • Anyone know what temps these can achieve with a ryzen 5900x?

    • +4

I have a 5900x and get around 65 degrees idle on quiet mode. This looks great but is a terrible cooler. Not recommended if you're building a quiet PC.

      • +5

        65 on idle? holy shit

        • You meant holy cow?

        • +8

defo a thermal paste issue but either way idle temps dont matter at all

          • @abjsdhasehasee: Idle temps matter a whole lot when they are 65C lol

            • @Nitr0: Yea but if you don't know how to computer don't computer as this defo sounds like they did something very wrong 🤣

            • @Nitr0: i mean could just be some bogged fan curve, if temps are <90 for a 5900x under load then its chilling

              • @abjsdhasehasee: Ambient temps also play a part, being summer now temps expected to run higher.

      • That's high, higher than cheap air coolers. Then in gaming it'll be 90 or so

      • +7

This sounds like you did something wrong lol I've seen a few of these in decent rigs all sitting under 30

      • I get similar results with my x63 280mm AIO. I had to fix the core clock to 4500MHZ and lower the core voltage to 1.26v keep it cool.

        • zen 3 is designed to run hot, your killing your single core performance running at 4.5ghz 1.26v when pbo itself runs same or better multicore with 4850mhz single core.

never static oc zen 3 its braindead af

          • @abjsdhasehasee: Sometimes it's better to static OC if you have a retarded motherboard. Mine won't even get my 3500X past 4GHz, and it's not even throttling.

            • @Void: Zen 2 is different, sometimes static works especially for 5 3600, and b450 is brain-dead

      • Yea I have a similar experience, changed the thermal paste mutliple times, got a replacement, other aios are just better, but this cooler looks so sick!

      • yep thats shit,i have a fractal AIO in my system and my 5950x idles at 39-46c and maxes at abnout 60 and that's a less than 140 dollar AIO

That sounds like a paste issue as someone said, that or the cooler is really just pretty shit

The fractal AIO is also SUPPPPPPPPPPPPPPER quiet the fans they have on it,not joking the actually pump motor is louder than the fans..

Have a Z63 which has the 280mm rad and I idle at ~28-33c on my 5900x. Would be a better choice over the Z53, but pretty sure gitgud has other underlying issues and it shouldn't perform that badly either.

  • Looking for a AIO whole evening and stumbled upon this. Nice to have a bonus SSD too. Cheers op.

    • +6

Get an Arctic Freezer II, cheaper and will perform better at its primary function… cooling your CPU.

      • OP did say it, this is for people who prefer form over function, style over substance.

        • +2

$289.. probably worth waiting for the EK-Nucleus Vision..

      • +3

OP here, done extensive research (and testing) on AIOs. If someone is looking for an alternative and doesn't like the look of the Arctic, I recommend the EK 240, 280 or Fractal Lumen S24, S28. Good looks, decent price and work well.

        • Would this be overkill for my SFF build, Intel i5-11400f build in CM NR200? Thinking of going ahead this deal or EK 240…

          • +1

@cloudie9: EK is good for SFF builds, I'd say save the money and go EK. Better pump for less price. A lot of people underestimate the look of the EK as it seems odd in photos with that very evident circular glow in the middle however it looks very good and properly diffused in person.

            • @alaskakyoto: Thanks for the advice, I've cancelled my order and placed the EKs from PLE.

      • I bought a Corsair AIO and ended up buying the Arctic Freezer II. The Artic is so much quieter. Function when it comes to computing is king.

  • where the flarking cupcakes are the gpu deals!!!!!

    • 2023

        LLLLAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMEEEE!!!! REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!

  • waiting for the Z63 to go below $300..

  • +4

Overpriced cooler. If you're going to burn money you'd may as well put it towards that GPU.

    • But but some people want all the RGB bling so they can stare at their PC cases instead of looking at their monitors…

  • Anyone got their order as yet? Seems like it keeps getting delayed?
