  I own the 1280DB and the only complaint is the remote which is utter trash. I believe the newer remotes are better.

  Which one would be the best bang for buck for desktop computer use? I’m not an audiophile, but it’s getting damn too hot using headphones in summer!

  So what are the main differences between the R1700BT and R1280DBs besides an extra 24w RMS in the cheaper model? Why would I pay more for the R1280?

  Edit: Did some googling and looks like the R1700BTs is the better of the two and usually costs more.
