[VIC ONLY] Bose Companion 5 - 2.1 Multimedia Speakers $399 ($599 RRP)

120

Just spotted this whilst looking for something else on the MSY website.

I don't want to start a war with Bose haters, but this is a bargain for anyone who likes Bose Equipment. I did a quick search on Google and Australian stores are retailing this set of speakers at around $540, so this is quite a saving for this specific set.

These speakers have an internal DAC, it uses the USB port from your computer. No sound card required. It also means potentially better quality audio.

Full specs of the system here: http://worldwide.bose.com/axa/en_au/web/companion_5/page.htm…

There is no direct link to the speakers and it's not in the Parts Price List PDF. It's listed in the online store clearance section under VIC - Clearance Centre:Clayton and scroll to the left.

Only 5 units available

Edit: forgot to add that this deal expires in 9 days (next Sunday) then it goes back to $499

Great. I can listen to these when I'm not wearing my Dr Dre Beats headphones.

I know it's cool to hate on Bose, but isn't the main problem usually with price? This seems pretty good value, considering the onboard DAC. I guess the most comparable model would be the smalled Audioengine's, which sound pretty good to me (but this adds a a sub)

  • well audioengine 5+ is 399 as well (but not the bamboo version)
=)got a pair for my dad however not the 5+ just the 5.. they sound amazing
difference is just the remote i believe =)

  • Are the Dr Dre Beats speakers better than bose?

    • Are the Dr Dre Beats speakers better than……

      Nope

Dr Dres are better than Bose in the same way the black plague was better than the smallpox virus. But the world would be a better place without either.

  • Very tempting… But i cant get into MSY till the coming saturday :(

  • Why they are RRP 399 in the US and $599 in Aus?
Take away GST, adjust for exchange rate @1.04 gives $165 gap.
Is Aussie power plug really worth $165?

    • They are really nice…

  • The best 2.1 system i have even seen, ideal for gaming and movies in tiny spaces. Picked up one this afternoon in clayton, only 2 left after me.

  • these speakers sound really good.

    but for $400… hmmmm

  • By the time I decided to splash out - all sold out
