Part of Amazon Boxing Day Sale - Cheapest I've seen, even Fossil AU is selling it for $200
It's been on my wishlist for a while to replace my slow Gen 4.
I bought Carlyle stainless steel with MAX10 code (targeted - first time app purchase), it brought it down to $169 - can't go wrong with that price.

EDIT: seems Julianna is OOS now, and only Carlyle stainless steel available for $179

This is part of Boxing Day Sales for 2021

Loved this watch but the battery doesn't last the day unless you disable/minimise so many great features. Spend the extra and get the new Samsung 4 watch.

    • I read a review that is saying the same thing but I don't mind, 1 day battery is fine for me. I'd rather spend $$$ on phones, laptop or something else :)

    can't go wrong with that

I don't think so. please come back with your review after a month. I bet the watch is collecting dust…..

It will be somewhat dusty because I wear dressy smartwatch only for weekends and my fitbit versa for weekdays though I gotta say that my Gen 4 from boxing day last year is dusty as I rarely wear it. It is bloody slow, even my Moto 360 Gen 2 is a lot more responsive! But hey Gen 5 for $169 - for me, it can't go wrong :)

Battery is the culprit. But if you don’t activate Bluetooth and wifi I think it should last much longer.

So for call or text just use your mobile phone.

Got the Gen5 for $99 a while back. The watch is okay for the price but the battery life isn't great and it gets quite warm in comparison to the apple watch if you're using all the features such as wifi, gps, heart-rate tracking etc

    • Also bought this for my wife for $99 + $10 credit for using Mastercard during Black Friday sale. Nice looking watch and you can conserve battery by turning off "always on" in the settings. This is on by default for Fossil smart watches. Ticwatches on the other hand have this off by default. Ticwatches also have tilt to open off by default. Which may explain why so many people praise Ticwatch for long lasting battery and hate Fossil for not lasting long enough.

One thing you'll need to consider is this won't get Wear OS 3 update if that matters to you

      • Did I miss the black friday sale?? Was the $99 sale for men's carlyle stainless steel or other variants? I've seen the garrett and women's gen 5 that cheap but haven't seen carlyle at $99 hence I only pulled the trigger now.

I don't mind about Gen 5 not getting Wear OS 3. Will probably get Gen 6 on boxing day next year anyway, lol.

That was Julianna. Wasn't looking for men's so I don't remember if it was on sale

  • You would think they’d get the battery right after 5 iterations?

  • Even at this price, I can't commit and would prefer the Gen 6 but hardly see any decent deals for it
