$10 off Your Invoice for Leaving a Review @ Tangerine Telecom

180

Apologies in advance if this is not considered a deal, but I was doing a bit of research on Tangerine Telecom and they offer a $10 off your bill if you post a review - could be both positive and negative

https://www.tangerinetelecom.com.au/help/do-you-offer-incent…

I'm unclear about this deal on several counts - 1) Whether multiple reviews qualify for multiple discounts and 2) how long does this take and even if you get this without much trouble

But this is OZB and we try all sorts of things to get our $ worth don't we?

If a review is posted by a past customer after cancelling their services, and the Tangerine account has already been settled in full and closed, Tangerine will make a charitable donation to the Telco Together Foundation to the value of $10. The Telco Together Foundation supports a range of charities across Australia.

  • I’m not with them. If I leave a review they will pay my bill, right?

    • The incentive for posting an online review is provided in the form of a $10 account credit. This is applied to the next monthly invoice from Tangerine.

This sounds like George Costanza came up with the idea.

Did you get a donation card this year from The Human Fund?

What if it's a bad review?

Seriously, read the thread description, jv. You usually tell other people off for not doing so. ^_^

      • Haha. Agree. Jv is one of the Pro level Ozbargainers. 👍

I'm not asking whether it's a positive or negative review.

I'm asking whether you still get the $10 off if the review is bad…

Shitty Speeds, Shitty Service, Shitty Price in my opinion it's more a Lemon than a Tangerine.

Can I have my $10 off now?

  • not great, tried to signup a while back and they kept saying it was up to telstra to connect me. the connection date kept getting delayed. After 3 reschedules, I gave up and signed with telstra and was connected next weekend.

      You lose….

      Hand in your OzBargain licence.

  • Where is the review to be left? If it's via Google, I think this violates their terms for leaving reviews.

  • My experience with Tangerine has been good so far, in the sense that the NBN appears to be working OK, and with similar performance to the previous provider.

The only concern I had when churning to Tangerine, was the that the transfer took days to process, rather than less than 30 mins (which has been my experience with all the providers I have used previously). (The outgoing ISP did not penalize me, so no harm done).

The price of $54.95 is about the best going without use of a coupon (for the first 6 months).

Those who work in the customer service team and the transfer team are a complete bunch of muppets.

I specifically asked to be churned on a particular day. I called up a few days after signing up to make sure they don't make any mistake about this.

On the day of the transfer, I had to make 5 calls which wasted half of my day. It turned out they only raised a request with NBN after my 5th call. During the other calls, they completely BS me to fob me off.

        Well, there is your review.
        Easy $10.
But your doing it here for free?

        • Well, there is your review.

Pretty much. I will have to tone it down a bit before I post it.

But your doing it here for free?

          First draft. ;-)

  • I was using Optus 4g and switched to NBN FTTP with tangerine. There was a pre existing NBN box in my rental property and tangerine was able to provide a working connection in less than 24 hrs. Overall solid connection, nice interface and all so can't complain.

That said, I haven't had any experience with their customer support so can't comment on that side of things.

  • As I remember we got this, can't remember the discount back then. They were actually really good and we got the first NBN connection from them. FTTC NCD was shipped quickly and then arranged a NBN technician to come and connect in the curb side pit.

  • Perfect. I just got charged $10 for bounced direct debit in the first month, after I set DD up on sign up and the bill said "you are set up for Direct Debit".

  • I joined Tangerine after a bit of research about 2 years ago. They were my first NBN provider and I'm still with them well after the initial discounts died. I'm FTN and just looking at FutureBroadband's qualification tool, my address outputs "NBN Speed Estimate: NBN advises the expected TC4 speed will be 64 Mbps. Expected max TC2 speed will be 10 Mbps." Looking at my modem/router, my current connection is "Attainable Rate (Kbps): 23307 / 65946 Rate (Kbps): 22600/66719"

That's one of the reasons I'm still with them and not enticed by $10/month/6 month deals. The other reasons are, they have a chat line with quick access to CSO's for routine stuff if necessary and proof (emailed transcripts of sessions) in writing of anything agreed; the connection has been rock solid for 2 years with only maybe a couple of drop outs if that; and finally, I have home phone and their specialist provided me with the SIP u/name p/w register address, proxy etc so I could set up my Grandstream ATA myself (it works flawlessly too).

As they say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it :)

  • I submitted request on Monday night, was connected the next morning. Speed is very unstable though, from 6, 24, 38, all over the place, was previously with Belong and it was pretty steady at 36. Was previously with them about 2 years ago and it was fine, hopefully it's because of all the power outages around recently and it will stabilise soon

  • Anyone signed up recently with Tangerine FTTP . I am in NSW metro area. Also got few coupons for $25 off but how do I apply them during signup?

    • Can I ask where did you get the $25 coupons from ?

  • Connect to Tangerine today for the 50/20Mbps FTTP. Using the Telstra Gen 2 Modem/Router however getting around 25Mbps download and 15-18Mbps Uploads. Called Tangerine Tech (30mins wait to talk) Support and they asked me to reset the router to factory default but still no luck with better download speed.

Any advice what do I need to do to get the full speed as I was previously with Belong/Telstra but always got ~48Mbps/~16-18Mbps.

    • You need to enable PMs.

I assume @Unified has provided their code already.

  • Thanks OP wasn't aware of this. Will submit and see if I get the $10 credit.

  • I have been happy so far with Tangerine FTTP.

  • +1

Tangerine has been excellent for me FTTN.

Thanks for this wasn't aware I had to submit it.

  • Posted a review to product review, emailed it to Tangerine, they replied approving the credit, I got $10 credit on my next bill. All as expected. Thanks.

    • I got a second $10 credit for posting to Facebook.

      • did u post the review on their fb page or wrote a post on your profile and tagged them?

        • Reviewed/Recommended Tangerine via their FB page.

          • @sween64: i dont see this option.. & their online chat says you cant leave review on fb, even though their site clearly states fb as a valid online website.

            • @plal: Did you email them?

After posting your review online and seeing that it has been successfully published and is visible online please take a screenshot of the review. Then email this screenshot, with your Tangerine account number, full name and address to our review team on: [email protected]. Alternatively, you can provide the public URL of the review along with your account number, full name and address.

@sween64: yeap, the reps have advised to post it on productreview & google reviews. fb is no longer valid & their website is outdated.
