Postage $21 for such a MINI card?

    • +3

The card maybe small but the size of the actual box is quite big. Hence postage can be a bit much. It's much bigger than my box of 1080ti full size

  • +3

    Is this cheap?
And is this a mini card?

    • +2

      Yes

  • +3

Great for ITX builds. If only Nvidia had a Low Profile card.

  • +4

    HODL!?

  • Lol to buy now or wait for next gen…

    • +6

I have a 3080 now, I'm definitely waiting for next gen!

    • +14

      HODL for 5080ti

      • +15

Wait for 5080ti to come out then get a 3060.

  • +2

I told myself when I went ddr3 just as ddr4 was becoming consumer I was skipping ddr4 hahaha

    • +2

      i5 4670, will build in 2023 with ddr5!

      • i5 4690 holding out.
maybe AM5 boards will last superlong

  • This should be a meme-card.

    • +3

Maybe back in the day….now it's an ok deal

    • +5

Only if you buy, then try re-sell 12mths later expecting it to be a full-sized card.

  • What is the highest fps per watt card currently available?

  • +2

What's the default Recommended Ripoff Price on a 3060 usually? (tongue in cheek fellas)

I get that this resembles a great deal in the current environment, just would like to know how it fairs as a bargain.

    • +5

3060's typically go for around $900 6600 was cheaper than this but now go for around 800 (it is comparable to this card)… but deals come up now and then.

    • +1

I think about $800 is the going rate atm, when you can find them in stock.
Cheapest next price I can find at the moment is $879 from PLE (eVGA GeForce RTX 3060)

      I always check staticice.com.au :)

      • Thanks I think this is the closest I'm going to get to a mid range card in a $5-700 price bracket.

        • Yes at the moment it is, i'll sell off my 1650 Super and use this for a few years.

          • +1

@scud70: good call. I think you can easily sell your 1650 super for 400-450, and then pay 200 for such a big upgrade. Definitely worth it!

      • so this price for 3060 is the cheapest deal so far for 2021?

        • going over the video card history on OZB sales, it's not the cheapest this year, but it's been a while since any at this level. The other GPU to look at is the RX6600 and RX66000XT which has also been a while since it's had a historical lows mid $500's to $900's and so on.

        • Yeh seems so, next cheapest i saw in the listings here was a pre-order for $732 … this particular card has been down around $799 before…

Note: i mean for a 3060, for 6600 and 6600XT high $500's to mid $600 on release and now about $200 more than that on average.

          • @scud70: lol I've got time, not now, the time isn't now, hold on…..hold!

            • @Sheep Whisperer: Oh definitely… maybe 2022 will bring around crypto crash… i'll get about $400 or so for the 1650Super so it's not a complete brain explosion on my part.

              • +1

@scud70: I don't think a crypto crash will bring the price of GPUs down. Miners will just build bigger rigs with more GPUs to get more coins.

I'm waiting for the 40-series cards so I can get a 30-series card for a reasonable price. My last card before the current one was an ex-mining card that gave me 3yrs of service for $200.

    • 3060 is equivalent with 1060 back in the day before mining boom, 2015-2016, should cost around $400ish.

this is not comparing the performance between 3060 and 1060 but what was available back then.

  • Will this fit inside razor core?

    • This is one of the smallest rtx 3000 cards so I am quite positive yes.

  • +1

    OOS

    • +1

I wonder how many actually buy and use it themselves, or rather try to sell it for profit instead ?

  • Yeah, seems oos now.

  • +2

    Not bad good size

  • -1

Good price, sold out in an hour

  • -4

Good card. With one fan only, expect it to moan run hard and loud. 😉

  • This price is probably the best price people will see for the next 10Y.

The GPU demand will be high in 2022 and beyond.

    • elon musk says we get recession before 2023, don't get rekt ser

      • I don't take price predictions from meme makers.

  • how do you calculate CGT on mining profit? do you take the GPU cost as an 'expense' ?

    • -4

There is no capital gain on mining rewards.

    • -1

cant expense unless you have a registered business

    • -1

No, GPU cost is an asset and must be amortised. Your crypto cost base is just $0 for CGT, with the same 50% reduction if you hold more than 1 year. Electricity and running costs can be considered expense. This is assuming you registered as a business.

  • +2

That was quick,.. OP can we pre-order the 3060 at this price?
