  • But they won't ship to Australia now.

    • So it seems, all but the 256GB now state they can't be shipped to my default address, and it's not a PO box. Not good.

    • You're right. I had the 512Gb M4 shipped to me a month ago but now it's not available to Australian customers. Mine was faulty and required an expensive (for Amazon) return. I wonder if they had too many coming back and decided the costs outweighed the benefits of selling to us?

Remailers could be used, but what happens if the drive is faulty? You're posing as a USA based customer yet are not. A return could be very expensive.

    • Absolutely amazing. I ordered a 512GB drive on 28/Mar for $609. It shipped to Oz without any problems,

So nearly $1/GB, will be 50c/GB soon enough.

    • Vertex 240's were under $1 per GB 6 months ago on clearance, prices aren't falling as fast as i'd expected tbh

Just as a point of reference Toms Hardware have a review of the new OCZ Vertex 4 and it includes comparisons to the M4 - which is arguably 2 generations old against the Vertex 4. It compares very well against it and sometimes beats it - just goes to show the excellent value and reliability these drives have. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/vertex-4-everest-2-bench…

Given the choice I always prefer Intel, Crucial, Samsung a distant third, and then others. At least they produce their own memory chips.

Have had bad experiences with OCZ SSD drives dying on me, so I won't touch them anymore. Maybe now that they own Indilinx, they may prove more stable.

  • already can get decent patriot's 240gb ssd's for $300 from msy,… prices will come down, 2-3 years 1 tb's will be had for $400 as production hits critical mass.

  • Awesome timing… had mine (that i got from umart a few weeks ago) fail today. grr.

I've had my 128gb Crucial M4 for ~6 months now and it hasn't missed a beat. I highly recommend these drives, great value for the dollars.

  • wait.. wasn't this $290 just a few days back?

    • Originally, the post was for the 512GB model.

  • Well there are a dozen M4 deals posted here each month so I can't blame you if you've lost track.

The original deal was for the 512GB for almost $1 per GB. If Amazon don't ship to OZ, then the deal is invalid. I don't see why the mod changed the deal, but kept this post alive, as others voted on the previous price-point. Not so much of a deal, now that it's a different device?

    Sorry, but I'm revoking +ve.

      mods are monkeys

    • sorry to be noob, but how do we revoke our vote?

Above the original poster's name click on 'votes', find your name on the list and revoke.

        • cheers
