  • Highly recommend this track. Great for all skill levels and is lots of fun!

    • Do you just go for 15 minutes, or is that not long enough?

      • +2

I'd say you go buy multiple 15's?

      • +3

I went for 15 and found it was a good amount of time but we played around with the table tennis stuff provided there. Perhaps you could go for 2 x 15 min sessions if you love karting.

      • +4

You can do multiple but I wouldn't do it in a row, it's quite tiring.

Thanks for sharing, have been wanting to try this with the kids.

What’s a good number of races as an introduction for kids to try this out?

Is it possible for dad to race against my kids on the main track? Or you only allow kids on at a certain time alone (under 12s), but 155cm+.

Cheapest I can find for under 16s is $39 for 15 mins Which seems quite expensive. Shame that there aren’t earlier slots available for kids that can access your lower variable pricing :(

Depending on travel costs and time, may not be worthwhile

Very helpful thank you. I'll cancel my flight from Gibraltar.

      • $30 off for first time users of UberTARDIS

  • Can't see how i can use Discover voucher. Only full payment option at checkout

      from the FAQs:

Hyper Karting accept Dine & Discover vouchers, but they can only be redeemed in store. If you are booking online, please see a team member at the front desk upon your arrival and we will refund a portion of your booking amount!

If you are booking and paying in store, we can redeem your vouchers at the front desk!

      • refund how?

        • +1

I don't know. I just made a booking and they will probably sort it out once you go there

        • Back onto your purchase method

    • Oh. If can would be good…. @OP ?

    • When you arrive and check in, mention your voucher and they will use it to refund $25 back to the account from which you paid.

  • +1

They should just round it off to $12.50. So you get 2x 15min sessions if u use the discover voucher.

Genuine q - is this covidsafe as I assume helmets are reused? How do those get disinfected? Was hoping this page would provide some insight.

    • +1

Disposable hair nets like this are used at other karting places I've been to. I think they were doing this before covid anyway.

      • +1

        Cool thanks :)

      • How’s a hair net going to stop you spreading/catching Covid?

        • How’s a hair net going to stop you spreading/catching Covid?

It doesn't, but I was just answering currentfad's question. Hyper Karting, like most businesses, just have the usual standard 'frequent cleaning' line when it comes to being COVID safe.

The last time I went karting, we also had to use disposable gloves and I think we had to have masks on under the helmets to save them disinfecting the inside of the helmets as well.

        • i'm not sure it even stops hair lice etc or keeps the helmet cleaner. i usually just wear a thin beanie (asking them beforehand of course)

    • You can wear your own helmet from motorcycle

  • Can I buy my own helmet?

    • Last time I was there they were selling helmets. Also you can bring your own if you already have one

      • Is a snowboarding helmet fine? ><

  • Hmmm. Mini track not open

I'm driving down from Newy for the tennis in the evening and thought this could be a fun option for the afternoon. On the day I'm looking at (4th Jan), the cheapest price is $29, and thats for before 9am and after 11pm only. Middle of the day (11am - 6pm) is $49 sessions. There is a single $19 time slot at 7:45am.

Pretty disappointed as this actually looks really fun.

Guess it's not misleading exactly ("FROM $13.30"), but would be nice if they had these prices all through the day. Can you give us some idea of what times of day we can get the $13.30 prices, OP?

I’ve only been karting once. I got kicked off the track for crashing into the fence.

  • Just my 2c

Great location, great staff and super cool technology but the actual Karting experience a bit underwhelming.

I was able to floor it the entire track without taking foot off accelerator. Even tho electric karts are theoretically faster accelerationwise, the karts are speed limited (you get quicker every lap or something). You do get 1 boost a lap - but it's a shame the karts are limited.

If you're someone used to the skill and challenge associated with petrol karts - you'll probably be a little underwhelmed.

It's still fun though and excellent price.

    • Good to know, thanks for sharing your experience.

Being able to floor it for the entire track isn't very appealing as this takes away from the fun of improving each lap time as you become better at judging acceleration and braking.

      • Being able to hold your foot to the floor all the way around - with maybe one sharp U-turn that requires braking - is normal for experienced race karters on most indoor tracks. You can still improve your times each lap by improving your line through and between corners. Inexperienced karters don't understand how fast a kart can corner.

    • There are two types of sessions - standard and expert. Haven't tried expert but i guess it is without speed limit

      • Must have changed as I don't recall having any option. Thanks

    • If you’re in the expert session and it still feels slow, you just pull over next to the staff at the track and let them know. They’ll increase the speed. They sometimes hold it back when there’s noobs on track and they feel can’t handle full race mode.

This was my experience too. But im pretty sure my kart was faulty or they messed up my speed somehow that my kart felt very slow throughout the entire race.

I would say im a pretty decent driver and I came last in terms of lap times - even my gf beat me and she doesnt drive nor has she been karting before.

  • Which session is $13.30? The only available session for $13.30 is at 7:30 am….

    • very early morning sessions are $19 and late night sessions are also $19. I dont think I've ever seen a $19 outside of these times.

    • Booked session at 9:30pm for $13 and a few sessions 1-2pm today for $20 each after discount

  • Make sure you ask them to turn up the karts if you are experienced at karting. Track is tight but challenging. No real straights. Fun for novelty of electric but I prefer outdoor regular karting.

  • do they charge a first time sign up fee like most of go-kart places?

  • Hi OP. Is this on the roof top or under cover, just thinking about heat.

Also how do I make a booking for different age groups?

Edit: don’t worry see if you want to go as a family with one age 14 speed for all is limited 50% 😥so I’ll come back in 2 years .

    • Just say they're 16?

Speed is limited to 50% power for all newbies anyway.

Just came back from Hyper Karting. Had an excellent time there. I did a full write-up on a Google Review, here it is:

It has been 4 hours since my karting experience and I can still feel the adrenaline rush. I planned out this trip a week in advance with some friends, and was NOT disappointed by Hyper Karting!!

This was my first time going karting, however a few in the group had been karting before, but not in this location. We booked into an earlier standard session, gave ourselves a break, and then went for another round 1.5 hours later - I highly recommend you leave a break in-between races, 15 or 30 minutes would be ideal (we had a long break to eat in-between).

On our first session, my initial goal was to focus on learning the kart and the track. In advance, I had read multiple reviews, and realized there was a clear misunderstanding of how the kart speed limits work. People seemed to think the karts will be given to them on 100% power, and the power won't change throughout the entire match.

Before entering Hyper Karting, I understood that this was absolutely incorrect, and the only way I would truly enjoy this and go as quick as possible would be to fully understand how this works:

Your kart speed will be controlled based off your lap performance. The quicker you go, the quicker the kart will get. There is a table on the booking page which shows the specifics of this, but in my situation, I managed to get a 49.3 second lap, granting 80% of the kart's power (INSANE amount of power).

Some people believe that because their karts have been slowed down, they're unable to get a good lap time. This is incorrect. Since your kart is slower, you're able to take tighter turns and take a racing line which you wouldn't be able to take at higher speeds. This modified racing line will allow you to get around the track quick and slowly increase the amount of power your kart will have.

Now, if there are others in the track who are slowing you down, this will most definitely make it difficult for you to do this - being the exact reason why the EXPERT mode exists - for people to race for good lap times without having slow racers in-front to slow you down.

In my first session, there were multiple slow racers, causing me to get a significantly worse lap time and ironically leaving me quite disappointed with the karts and other racers when I left. In my second session however, every racer seemed to have a good amount of experience, allowing myself and the other racers to go at a much quicker pace and make their karts quicker.

I came into this place hoping to get a lap time under 50 seconds, as 50 seconds seems to be the benchmark for good lap times here. I left with a 49.3 and a huge smile on my (and my friends) face.

I would absolutely recommend this place, as long as you understand the automatic speed control of the karts.

P.S. I'm coming back to beat my lap time and try the EXPERT mode!! :)
