Not as cheap as the Amazon deal ($498) on NOV 21 but still a good price for this decent drone.
Looks and flies exactly the same as Mini 2, good for someone who only needs a 2K video.

Yes, the range is a huge deal if buying a drone
Mini 2 also has a better top speed and better battery life. It will also have better resale value when upgrading to a larger drone.

@wxwsf: Real world experience for me is around 5 minutes and also take into account the speed difference and range distance. These are the reasons the Mini 2 is far superior
Curious how range makes a big difference for these drones given the CASA rules are to keep the drone in view. Is this for non-Australia flying? or does it also result in less interference/better streaming?
I used to have a phantom 3 advanced which could go 2km, and I could only see it at max ~500m away physically.
Interference dramatically reduces signal stability and usable range. More is better.
Because 90% of the clowns who buy drones wouldn't even have read the CASA regs let alone actually follow them.

Also mini 2 can take raw photos. JPEG only with 1 and SE
Don't get mislead by the range of the Mini vs the Mini 2.
They are different technologies, the Mini 1 in some conditions can have very poor range due to interference.

The description is flat out wrong - this is literally using all the same internals as the original Mini.
For those keen, DJI have just released their SDK for the Mini SE, Mini 2, and Air 2S, meaning features like Active Track and Waypoints that might be missing on some of those drones should become available using third party apps:
