lol everyone is selling RAT's now. I'll be expecting the anti vaccers and bikies will be selling them soon too

      • +16

        the anti vaccers

There is something seriously wrong with people who refuse to vacuum.

    • +7

lol.. RAT's are definitely the toilet paper of 2022…

      • just a little bit more pricy that toilet paper

        i'm happy
people buying RATs cant buy any bargains then!

RAT's are definitely the toilet paper of 2022…

Please read the instructions, you seem to be using them incorrectly

    • RAT rods
      .

  • Are these approved?

    • Yes, but on the low end 'Acceptable sensitivity'

      • I wouldn't recommend any of the "acceptable sensitivity" RATs if your visiting elderly or immunocompromised people, I did two tests 24hours apart and both results were negative, then got my PCR results which were positive.
I used "EcoTest" branded ones, and I was testing while symptoms were bad, very surprised both tests came back negative.

Yes, by the RACV and NRMA

      • Don't forget RAA

Auto repairs direct…. Seems like I can get some blinker fluid with my RAT tests. Wtf so can any business just buy tests and price gouge them?

    • +6

      yep
dont forget to report them to ACCC!

    This is getting so boring.

    Acceptable sensitivity

  • Just over $12 a test hmmmm.

Who would have thought 2 years ago we would be saying things like:

    I've ordered more RATs
I've got RATs in the mail
    I've run out of RATs

My 2019 self would be looking at me strange i think….

  • +11

LOL… buy RATs from an opportunistic auto parts store.

    I think that I'll pass.

  • later on i believe to see more individual people selling RAT in the market place with really lower price….lol….

  • +1

Wow what a waste of money

  • How much money they make if this costs 6 bucks to make lol

    • I hope they don't manufacture tests on their own.

  • +3

Scummy. Will never be buying any car parts from this business in future either.

    20 for 219 here https://shop.aushealth.com.au/collections/antigen-testing/pr…

Not a deal, but rat test spam

  • Lets hope government cracks down on this crap and shuts down businesses making ANY profit from selling them.

    • +5

The prime minister literally said he doesn't want to undercut businesses. I.e. they want businesses making profit off them.

Edit: Nevermind. I just saw the update overnight saying RATs will be subject to price gouging regulations… Call me sceptical, but I have a feeling that'll be in paper only…

Hector is going to be running 3 Honda Civics with spoon engines. And on top of that he just came into Harry's and he ordered 3 T66 turbos, with NOS, and a Motec system exhaust - And he’s got scalped RAT kits!

  • No

Don't give them a cent. Not a deal. Profiteering off the pandemic.

There's literally 0 sense in stocking up on RAT.
If you're eligible, you can get better ones for free anyways…

Critical medical equipment from a car parts store.

The future is more cruel and critically, more stupid than we could have imagined.

I’m waiting for the Chemist Warehouse deal on a Transmission Service

  • Might see a few guys in a van turn up, put up a ladder get on your roof, lift a few tiles and throw them into your roof space. Just like the roof insulation scandal during the GFC.

    Auto Repairs. Great.

    Way to jack the price

  • +2

Regardless or not if its an auto repair place, its still not a bargain, 24 tests for 290 is way worse than 5 tests for 50 that appear on ozbargain most days as of late.

  • Do they service the tests in 12 months to check if they are still roadworthy

  • +2

    Daylight robbers! 👎

  • Not a discounted price

  • Buy 3 oils filters get one RAT free.

  • Dispatch 10th January.

  • Hear me out, it is a deal if you have small children and do not have the ability to stand in a queue to get a pcr test. The car queues near us start around 3am and that's not feasible with little ones. On day 6, you have to take a RAT test to get out of isolation. I really dont want to go visiting a handful of pharmacies every day with my small kids to try to find a couple of these tests to have when covid hits us so that we can get out of isolation in good faith with a negative result, and without having to strap them into the car for half a day.

I don't dispute that there is price gouging going on, but per unit these are cheaper than the local pharmacy and will save dealing with three kids under five screaming in their car seats (and we have a car potty so we know how to spend a lot of time in the car as it). I'm glad the deal was posted as just having a couple of these will be a huge saver in precious time.
