Reduced again after around a month. I understand it's not to everyone's liking, but a good deal on these large sized tins. Normally 220g or 300g are the new standard sizes you would normally see, so these are twice the size and twice the carbs. Great on toasted bread, heavily loaded with Lurpak. Great option for a cheap, lazy hot meal. Added some beans options for the spaghetti haters.

    Minimum quantities always make it harder to grab these bargains

      Salt reduced is always an option, but then you'll need to buy salt.
      Next time you're at a supermarket, checkout the size of these bad boys. They are much larger than most people think.

      Amazon are price matching Woolworths, eg if the minimum quantities are an issue for you.

      • Only an issue for some. Most people would eat 3 tins in the 2-3 years expiration date. Also, Woolworths doesn't offer S&S, hence in more expensive for certain items, even on sale. Nor do they give any cashback or 2% off live gift cards. If you can get 5% WW is likely a better deal if you need to go for something else

    • LOL I find the maximum quantiles of 6 are pathetic .
      They seem to have 300g tins every 5 sec's for $1 that is better value than this.

    Wouldn't it be cheaper and better to buy pasta from the supermarket and cook it at home? I have never eaten these canned pastas before but from what I gathered from YouTube videos they swim in extra watery sauce, and I think they're probably loaded with preservatives and artificial flavours as well. They might come in handy for camping trips or for longer storage, I guess.

      The sauce is thick and sweet. It's not like Italian spaghetti. The cheap versions (brands) are watery, but Heinz lives up to its name of quality. Preservatives would be from salt and the fact the can is heat sealed (No oxygen = no microbe growth). There are no added colours or flavours. They are great for situations where you cannot keep food fridge temp (i.e. camping). If you have eaten canned beans, the sauce is much the same, just replace the beans with carbs and you get spaghetti. Beans are much healthier than Spaghetti version if you wish to try one and want something with fibre and some veg (aka beans).

        I personally don't mind the beans, can easily easy them cold.

        But I'm not a foody

        I ordered 3x3 of the 300ml BB using shop and save. Makes it just under a dollar a can

        • I notice like 5 min ago the 300g cans were also fair priced. Normally you don't get the large and small cans on special at once. if you can also add anything to AussieDaddy comment, please feel free. It's weird trying to describe the sauce to someone who has never had them. Personally, I hate beans, but I love the sauce and dip heavily buttered toast in it 🤣🤣🤣 (I've lived a long life),

            @Froot Loops: Heinz Baked Beans in Tomato Sauce, 3 x 300g https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B07P9TS61V/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt…

            Works out cheaper than the $2 cans.

            Need to buy "3" which means 9 cans

            300 grams is a good size for the kids and me to sneak a few spoons worth

            • @itshammer: 300 grams tins are cheaper, but only in plain flavour. You can get "flavoured" varieties for $0.30/100 g in the larger tins

              Math on plain
              300g = $0.33/100 g
              555g = $0.36/100 g

              For any flavour, the 555g tins are cheaper over 300g

      • Quality? Maybe before 3G capital bought them

    • +1

      They are two different things. You will not be able to recreate it at home and they do not wish to can what you are making

  • whats the difference between Heinz Baked Beans English Recipe and the Heinz Baked Beans in Tomato Sauce? Is it only the Tomato Sauce gets added or removed?

    • +1

      the English recipe ones taste more like ham sauce than tomato sauce
