Hisense 58A6G 58" 4K UHD TV $695 (Free Delivery to Selected Cities) @ Appliance Central

280

Seems to be a good price for a solid budget 4K TV.

Price includes delivery (at least to the NSW and Vic postcodes I tested).

Price beat offered by TGG @ $685 (however this only worth if you can Click and Collect though, as their delivery cost is $22).

    $98 delivery WA

  • Just tried few post codes, looks like it’s free shipping for metro Vic.

    • Movies 5.8 :(
thats most of my TV use

    • I noticed recently that the Hisense TVs are build differently in different regions. e.g. recent A7G, which only available in Aus and UK atm, is Quantom-Dot in the UK Version but not the Aus version. Though referred to A7G on every review site I visited (even though UK model is technically A7GQ)…

All I mean to say is that you should confirm the specs of the reviewed unit with the one you are considering. E.g. VA panel vs IPs, refresh rate, etc..

  • I looked at this TV at JB Hi-Fi and was almost going to buy it but it only had a 50Hz refresh rate which would be a problem for some gaming consoles (not that I have any) and also for HD quality sports on Kayo (which I have). For an extra $200 I got this one in the 65”.

If you just need one for free to air, then I am sure this 58” will be fine, but boy do I love the one I ended up buying.

Why is it a problem? It's 60hz.. can't expect 120hz on something this cheap

      • -1

It had a 50Hz label on it when I looked at it in store.

Not saying this is a problem. I specifically said in my comment that it’s fine for free to air TV, but just shared what the person in JB told me about gaming consoles and HD sports streaming not being as clear when the refresh rate is lower.

Your JB rep is misinformed, and the refresh rate has little to do with the quality HD sports streaming. But broadly speaking, a higher end unit will look better and the extra $200 for you spent for a larger unit and better panel/image processor is certainly worth it.

          50hz = AU
          60hz = USA

"In the UK, most of Europe, Africa, Australia, Southern South America, most of Asia, and Russia, the
frequency of the alternating current in household electrical outlets is 50 Hz
In North America and Northern South America, the frequency of the alternating current in
household electrical outlets is 60 Hz"

All these tvs will display 60hz/60fps for gaming

    • I may be wrong…..but pretty sure the you purchased is only 50-60hz anyway?
The specs list the Hz as 100hz clear motion, which is just fake anyway. Happy to stand corrected.

I looked quite thoroughly at the Hisense models at this price point and just got sick of the lies and confusion that exist with their specs.
The U8G is supposed to have 200hz clear motion which means it MIGHT have 100hz native, but I didn't trust that model as that was the one they lied about- the aussie spec sheet was waaaaay different to the USA model. And their own spec description says their "specs may change at any given time".

This made me think there is no way the model below (the one you purchased) would have 100hz native, which I was also interested in.
I may be wrong….I hope I am….because I would like to think you didn't just spend that extra money and not get the only feature you were looking for!

Agreed. Hisense models vary between regions so it makes it difficult to base decisions on reviews too. Especially when they keep the same naming across regions too…

But I got the 85A7G last week and quite happy with the quality. Needs some colour calibration out of the box, but good for the most part. Has Dolby Vision + ATMOS + eARC port. Good media unit for the pricepoint. Lack of apps is annoying though, will likely get a "Chromecast with Google TV" to make up for it.

We picked this up last time it was this price from HN.
Salesman gave us another $20 off

It's just for regular TV and streaming.
Great TV for a great price.

Remote response between apps is excellent.
Remote is a little clicky and loud at times when surfing for a show, but we can live with that

  • I bought one a couple of weeks ago at Videopro in Qld for $660 pickup.
Im happy with mine and like D1997 above I also was tossing up between the 58 or 65 sets
I have had two good Sony tvs die on me lately and both were under 4 years old and both were a lot more expensive than this.
So I considered Sonys 1 year warranty and decided it was better to go with low end tvs.with a 3 year warranty.
I think that Costco have cheaper Hisense TVs if you buy in store.

      • I see its gone up to $685 mine was $660 on 30/12/21 at Helensvale store.
That was the advertised price without any bargaining.
For comparison the 65AG7 was $935.00 back at that time
They were very easy to deal with. I would certainly buy from them again.

        • Yeah I got my 65N7 off them years ago and would happily use them again

  • $790 now
