I just took delivery of this TV yesterday from JB Hi-Fi. Appliance Central was selling it for $946 delivered a few days ago so I had JB price match it and then used e-gift 5% off to get it for $898.70 delivered. Paid for it on NYE and it was delivered yesterday. Absolutely amazing service from JB Hi-Fi from the in store sales man through to the delivery and tracking / notification process. Cannot fault the whole experience. Bought from JB Top Ryde.

Appliance Central now selling it for $930 delivered so you can get it from JB a little cheaper than what I paid for it.

    • Thanks for info. How do you get 5% off gift cards. I can see 3% on SB

  • Is this near the best for the price in the 55"-65" range? My budget is ~$1000 and I am very tempted

Do it, do it now. You won’t regret it.

As I was setting the TV up this morning the words were going through my head “this TV is just too big and I should have just gone with the 55” like the Samsung I am replacing with the Hisense” and then when I hooked it all up and turned it on, I took it all back and said “this TV is spectacular”.

I’m using it for free to air and Kayo only so far, and both are brilliant on it.

I did it! Looking forward to testing it out soon

I don't think you should be recommending a TV you've used only for an hour.

For under $1k and comparing the TV with the Samsung 55” Smart TV I replaced it with, I am very impressed with the Hisense AND I was cheaper. Picture quality for free to air is amazing and Kayo in HD is brilliant.

There is that good enough for you?

@D1977: Was your old tv current model? Tech had changed alot.

            • @onlinepred: My Samsung was 5 years old.

With that said, everyone has different expectations and needs for AV equipment. If in doubt, go into a shop and check it out yourself. That’s what I did. Looked at it in store and then went back next day and bought it after I did a bit of research / read reviews.

@D1977: All the store tvs are not calibrated and set to store mode to look crazy bright. Probably the worst way to test a tv.

      • After a little while you'll regret not buying a 75in

I managed to get the 55U8G for $1100, it has Quantum dot & HDR. It has the typical Hisense upscaler issues and the OS isnt amazing, but on 4kHDR content….. wow, just wow
      Its $1155 atm.

I've had this a short while and it's pretty good. I have a chromecast with TV and so far I haven't been using it because the TV has good built-in apps.

When you're mid-youtube video and switch to TV or another app, then back again, the youtube video resumes and the audio is out of sync but can be fixed by skipping to another part of the video.

I had a problem with a previous Hisense TV after 2 years so I'm not expecting much when it comes to long term quality.

Note that Hisense TVs look to have quantitatively more problems and warranty claims compared to other manufacturers:

I got the 85" for $2120 earlier today (same deal/code), and will be delivering tomorrow. Hopefully it doesn't disappoint. Looks like good value for money.
