    how about Sydney?

Looks like alot of tourists are pulling the pin on their Tassie vacation due to covid!

    How is this a deal?

Quoting rack rate discounts that are readily available at any aggregator

How is spamming to drive affiliate traffic any better than the Amazon ad deals with inflated RRP, or member referral links in deals?

    • Beatthatflight is a regular here :(

  • Holy moly I didn't realise this series wasn't over

  • Does Tasmania still require a PCR test before entry, despite having thousands of active cases now?

    • -1

If you are fully vaccinated but have spent time in any high-risk areas in the 14 days before you intend to arrive in Tasmania, you are required to return a negative COVID-19 rapid antigen test within 24 hours before departure, or a PCR test 72 hours prior to departure to Tasmania.

      High-risk areas domestic
The following states and territories are currently high-risk:

      ACT
      NSW
      NT
      QLD
      SA
      VIC
      WA.

WA is high risk? So basically everyone needs one from anywhere

You do not need to provide evidence of your result via the Tas e-Travel system but must declare that you will not travel if you do not receive a negative result.

Given the thousands of cases that have all originated from interstate tourists, I don't believe this honour system to be working.

Despite being 'open for business!', it's only the tourists who are going out. Hobart is significantly quieter than before the border opened to COVID-19 hotspots.

    • Am currently holidaying in Tassie (from Qld). Flew into Launceston 6 days ago and they made us scan our e-pass at the airport, but none of the staff checked our Vax certificates, asked if we'd done covid tests or gave us a RAT to take with us and use if we started feeling sick. YMMV though.

I recommend the Henry Jones Art Hotel. Probably not the cheapest but what a stay!

  • Wish I could go but been in iso since testing positive last Friday….
