1722

This is back now boosted to $100

  1. Go to ing.com.au/everyday, open a new Orange Everyday and enter your promo code in the promo box at the end of the online form - this part's really important otherwise neither of you will get your reward!

  2. Deposit $1,000+ (such as their pay) from an external source into their new Orange Everyday account within any calendar month.

  3. Open a Savings Maximiser (if they don't already have one) and make a deposit into this account.

  4. Make 5+ settled (not pending) purchases using their new Orange Everyday card within any calendar month.

Once a friend completes the required steps, you'll both receive your reward. But tell them to be quick - they've only got until 28 February 2022 to complete all steps!

Eligibility Criteria

If you have previously opened an Orange Everyday account at any point since 1 July 2014 (even if the account has now been closed), then you are ineligible for this offer.

    • How much is the interest paid? 2%?

    • +1

I do this for a few of my accounts that have the increased-balance requirement, it's a bit of a pain to keep track but worth it in the end (at least for me)

    • +2

Perfect strategy just sucks if u ever forget one month:(

      • +1

        Hurts hey :(
Never again though, I have daily reminders for the last 3 days each month indefinitely

Telsa Moldy 3 here I come!! Meep meep

    • if we don't do that (and don't deposit $1000) the "only" issue is the higher interest rate right?
I did it all for the first months as well as my 5 transactions to get the $100,now waiting on that but was just wondering for March if I don't do all of that if it really matters.

      • Off the top of my head I think the other benefits include free ATM use and rebate on international purchase fees. Nothing significant besides the interest rate. I think. Just from memory.

  • I have the unique promo code for the promo that ended in Dec 31 2021. The the code the same for the $100 promo?

    • +1

ING always allocate to you the same referral code each time they run a referral promotion. However, the bigger question is whether you’re actually included in the promotion mentioned in this deal. The only way to know for sure whether you’re included in this promotion is via email. Who knows, maybe you’ll get an email in a few days saying you’re part of this latest promotion.

Also confirming that the $100 referral code this time around is the same code as last time (according to my emails)

  • +1

Great! I just realised I was emailed with the code too. Thank OP!

  • awws no code for me :"(

I have been a customer for years and have never received a code. They are unfair

    • -1

Not really a valid neg to be honest. Last time, I simply sent ING a message via the message portal in Internet banking and they sent me my referral code.

      • it is unfair to treat customers differently. All should have the same opportunity. I have contacted them before about this, and they didnt help me. I have been an active customer for many years.

      • I have contacted them before about this, and they didnt help me.

This statement had me giggling. Imma let Karen be Karen.

  • Is annyone know how can I generate refer code to my friend?I am already ING customer want to refer my friend and both of us will get $100

    • +1

      you can't
you need to wait for ING to think you are worthy of receiving one… I too am not worthy. They'll email you when they think you are ready to refer people.

How many withdrawals a month do I have to make to get the attractive women of diverse ethnicities sweatily dancing in front of me?

Why is this marked as off topic? Is humour off topic? I'm just thinking of the 1000s of comments posted everyday that must be off topic.

  • Just confirming that any of the 603+ ING referrers on OzB referrals database can be used for the purposes of this promotion, i.e. an ING referrer code should be valid across the different sign up promotions they have run including this one?

    • +1

      Not necessarily.

Mods didn’t force everyone to re-confirm whether they’ve received an email to be part of this promotion, so there is likely to be some people who have ticked to say they’re happy to receive private messages requesting for referrals, but their promo code from a previous promotion is not actually active for this promotion.

I went into detail in a different comment to highlight that only some people with referral codes would actually be included in this referral promotion.

Thank you thousand times for your amazing PSA, and depth of knowledge always.

  • A few years ago I participated in an ING referral for $50, dotted all the i's & didn't get it, had to lodge a financial services dispute to get it.

They didn't explain why I didn't get it in the first place.

  • Hi all, maybe I misread something but how do we get the referral code ? do we just pm people ? from what I read the referral system might have code from people who didn't receive the email so might not work.
    Thank you

    • +2

There is no code in the referral system. You need to make a request for a code and if you're lucky it will be sent to a member who got the email. That's why it was advised to send several referral requests

      • Good idea imo to also check that the person you're PMing has received an email from ING indicating that their code is valid for this specific promotion (the one ending 28 February 2022). The email from ING contains the header "time's ticking to get $100 a pop"

I believe that while the actual code stays the same for the life of the ING account, different ING users get selected each time they run the promo. I've been selected for some, including this current one, but not for others.

        • I believe that while the actual code stays the same for the life of the ING account, different ING users get selected each time they run the promo.

If the referrer is not selected for this current promo (even if the code remains the same across promotions), the referee will not receive the promotional benefit of $100 upon meeting all the criteria. If this is the case, a lot of potential referees could be duped unless they have multiple IDs lying around to try again.

PS: Putin says hi. He is very sorry that he poisoned you.

  • How do we get our own referral code from ING? Called them lady had no idea may be she was never got referred ever in her life

    • They email you about the offer and your code is in the email.

      • Yes, called again, another lady said if you're chosen you will get one. Sounded such an elite class bank.. if you're chosen.. wow

Welcome to the club, Number 493. You have become a member of the ancient and noble society of Stonecutters, who since ancient times have always endeavored to shatter the stone of ignorance, to bring forth the light of truth… now, let's all get drunk and play Ping-Pong!

        • if you're chosen

I am sorry to break it to you but you are not the chosen one.

  • Interesting clause in the T&C. Ozbargain mentioned explicitly.

"If you use this offer in a manner that is not satisfactory to us or in line with the intent of the offer (such as sharing your referral code on the 'OzBargain' website or other similar websites, or advertising or marketing your referral code), we may refuse to pay the cash reward (including in respect of any or all referrals made in relation to the offer). This includes conduct on your part which is designed to undermine the fair and intended operation of the offer. "

  • Finally received my card, can I do the 5 transactions online / apple waller/ or does it have to be with the physical card like RACQ ?
    Thanks

  • Fulfilled all the requirements in January, was expecting to get $100 at the end of the month according to T&C’s, but got nothing so far. Anyone got their referral bonus from this?

    • Still waiting for mine too

      • I am still waiting for mine. I hope they don't pull a fast one like eBay with their $10 GC offer.

        • following the same (and ebay too)

  • I've just received the promotion email, and the promotion is extended to 31 March 2022.

    • Did you receive the promotional email in early January as well, or did you only receive a promotional email today?

      • I only received today.

        • Ahhh, it sounds like you've been targeted for a referral program separate to the one in this deal, but the only difference is that you have a different start and end date compared to most of us.

  • Got email again too

  • I just received the promotional email today.

    • Same here only just got the referral code just over 3hrs ago

  • Got an email saying promotion is extended to 31 March 2022. Still $100

  • I just received the promotional email today. Says $50

  • I just got the email, (wasn't included in the January campaign), but it looks like there is a "new batch" for February. There's a new link, but usual process, ie need referral code.

All three family members of mine got their accounts locked due to fraud… lucky there was only 0.05c in them waiting for the cards to arrive and they didn’t leave the 1k in there.

    • -2

      Cool story.

      • Why would I make that up lol. Took an hour on hold to even get through to them then had to send an email to their [email protected] email address and they wanted to confirm details. I'm assuming because I helped them open their accounts when they came over so something must of flagged somewhere due to the IP address opening multiple accounts. Still it took like two weeks before the accounts were locked and we were able to fulfil all the requirements except for the 5 transactions because the cards hadn't arrived.

        • I wrote cool story, not cool tale. Didn't say you made that up, just there is probably a context to this incident which is not related to this deal.

  • +1

Chosen for the $100 promotional email today

    • Yup they’re sending them out again.

  • How soon after meeting all the eligibility requirements do you receive the bonus?

  • has anyone received the bonus?

  • keen to know if anyone's received the bonus or not

    Also with this point:

Open a Savings Maximiser (if they don't already have one) and make a deposit into this account.

does anyone know the minimum amount that needs to be deposited to the Savings Maximiser?

    • I think it's because you need to make a deposit to activate to account.

      • yes I'm aware… the question is what is the minimum amount of deposit that needs to be made into Savings Maximiser in order for the bonus to be activated

        • I doubt there is a minimum. As long as the deposit activate the account.

          • @ShouldIBuyIt: hmm yeah that's what I thought initially, so I told my mates to just put $5 in there on top of the $1005 they deposited into the Orange Everyday

They've already made the 5x purchases using the card ( assuming that online purchases count )

This is all back in mid-January, so when February rolls in we were expecting our bonuses - it's now 2nd week of Feb and none of us have received anything - so I'm a bit concerned that we did something wrong.

            • @kevinMario: I put $1000 into each account, $2000 in total, did 5 purchases in January and also did not receive anything. I’ve yet to see anyone confirm they got this referral bonus.

            • @kevinMario: "For privacy reasons, ING will not tell you which friend met the Eligibility Criteria.

Where eligible, the Reward will be deposited into both you and your friend's Orange Everyday accounts by the end of the calendar month after the friend meets all applicable Eligibility Criteria"

Looks like you have to wait end of Feb.

  • if anyone is wondering when to receive the bonus, this is what your email should mention

"Once you complete the steps, you'll receive your reward by the end of the following month"

So if you completed steps in January, expect your reward by the end of February

    • The people I referred did all the steps early Feb. The timeframe to have it done by was the end of Feb and thus far neither myself nor them has got the promo $$ as at 8th March

  • +2

got $100 bonus at Feb 15, happy :)

  • -3

Can people who request the referral code actually use them please and then fulfil the requirement tasks so we both can get the bonus?
ive had three referral requests so far and each time have gotten nothing, indicating the user probably did nothing with the referral code or hasnt fulfilled the requirements

    • Although it could be the case that none of your referees have completed the requirements to get the bonus, you need to keep in mind that ING may have suspected you have shared your code on OzBargain and have decided to not award any referral bonuses to you at all.

The following is buried in the terms and conditions of the referral offer:

If you use this offer in a manner that is not satisfactory to us or in line with the intent of the offer (such as sharing your referral code on the 'OzBargain' website or other similar websites, or advertising or marketing your referral code), we may refuse to pay the cash reward (including in respect of any or all referrals made in relation to the offer). This includes conduct on your part which is designed to undermine the fair and intended operation of the offer.

That is the risk you take for sharing your referral code on OzBargain.

    • +1

@WookieMonster has pointed out one of the reasons. This can happen if your referee went off to the ING sign up page via the OzBargain website.
The ING sign up page will most likely capture the HTTP referer field of the HTTPS request. If it finds a list of banned sites such as OzBargain, it will probably invalidate the referral.

Here is another most common reason. Most people request codes multiple times. Then they choose the one they like, or the person who replies the earliest.

  • ING is by far the worst bank I have ever had to deal with.
Incompetent and arrogant customer care that just read a script and does not listen. And when eventually you manage to stop them from their script they reply disrespectfully and with attitude.
By no means we should milk ING for all we can, but discard them as soon as the scope has been achieved.
And if you cannot be bothered to put up with all their bulls#*% for a few $, just give them a miss. You will not regret it!!!

    • My experience so far is on par with Citibank. Which to date is the worst bank I had to deal with.

  • has anyone got the bonus yet?

    • Would most likely be at the end of this month.

      • I hope so!

  • i found my email from ING and my promo code sent to me 02/07/2018 titled : $100 a pop. so it will still work for people?

    • Doubt it. Unless you got an email in Jan/Feb with a code then your old one won't work. Could always spend 50mins on hold to ask ING.

  • Just got my referral code emailed today, valid until 30th April 2022

    • Only $50 tho, right?

      • The email I receive says $100 referral bonus

        • Got the same email $100, expires 30th april

      • No, $100

  • I also just got the referral email with the $100 offer expiring 30 April 2022:

So if you've got friends yet to discover ING's great value, send them our way and you could bank a $100 reward - each!

  • I also just got the referral email, same code as last year, kinda weird..

  • I've never done one of these before, is this how it works?

    1. I click on the referral link in the post
    2. I get a code, put it in
    3. Get approved, get $100
    4. Can I refer another person, and then I get another $100, and they get $100?
  • +2

    Got notification that:

Because your unique promo code has been used and your friend met the eligibility criteria, your reward will be deposited into your Orange Everyday within the next month - so keep an eye out.

    • Yep same. Too bad you can’t tell how many people used if. I have at least two friends that used my code saying they got a similar email today.

      • Got one of my $100 today. Should be at least one other coming though…

  • Is this promotion still valid? I can't find any written material that suggests that it has extended beyond 28 Feb 2022

    • Yes my email says I've got until april 30 to refer a friend

      • Cheers. Hmm will all the codes we get through the 'Referral Links system' above still be valid? How can you tell?

During the bank account set-up process does it say if your promo code is successful and valid when you enter it?

        • Not sure about the process but you'll just have to check with your referrer that they did indeed get the email and maybe ask to see it first. Check the date it's due and how much. Some people have the $50 referral, $100 or nothing.

          • @cami087: I actually didn't get the original one but I got an email the other day saying time is ticking - $100 a pop

I turned some people down originally as I didn't think I was part of it

  • Guys, does the 5x $1 or $0.1 transactions at a WW / Coles self checkout still work for meeting the eligibility criteria for a referee?

    • yes, I did 5x $0.02 though believe 0.01 is enough

      • Thanks for confirming.

In that case, Revolut funding should also work (which can be done from home).

  • Just received a reminder email with the subject "(name), time's ticking to get $100 a pop"

"So if you've got friends yet to discover ING's great value, send them our way and you could bank a $100 reward - each!"

    Offer expires 30 April 2022.
