Seiko Presage Martini Cocktail Time SRPG23J $369 Delivered @ Starbuy

670

Part of Starbuy's Weekend Flash Sale, expires some time Monday morning.

I don't think the Seiko Presage Cocktail Time watches need much introduction here. $369 is a good price in my opinion, just depends if you're looking for a white/silver dial.

    Beautiful watch.

    4R35

    • +4

That is indeed the movement. What's your point?

      • +1

41 hours PR, +45 / -35 seconds per day. Some might be happy with that.

        • Whilst the +45/-35 might be official Seiko specs I've never had one worse than +-10

          • +1

@tomcat83: Same experience with 4R35s and NH35As when I cared about accuracy.

I don't really bother now unless it's hugely inaccurate and just enjoy the watches.

            • +4

@ihfree: Completely agree..if you want accuracy buy a quartz, that's not really the point with these watches.

              • @tomcat83: Time for 9R65. :)

@[Deactivated]: The new white birch spring drive is my grail watch! ….. Sometimes the wanting is better than the having…… Well that's what i tell myself anyway!!

                  • @tomcat83: Haha. My favourite is still the snowflake… 9R65's power indicator is the best part, i go for a 30 mins walk to wind up the watch when it is running low.

                    • @[Deactivated]: Agreed…. Just I prefer the power indicator on the back of the watch- keeps the dial nice and clean!!

        • This just reinforces the point that even brand new watches should be regulated before they even go on your wrist.

why are you so defensive and insecure about 4r35 lol

        • +1

You're posting it without context. I've asked you to clarify what you mean.

          • +1

@ihfree: what point is that it's got a 4R35 movement.

Listing a watch without putting in the movement is like listing a desktop without specifying the CPU and GPU model.

    • You could buy a Swiss Powermatic 80 movement for under $500 if you wait for a sale.

      • +2

After you buying the watch or buying the movement?

        • The watch, for example on jomashop there are some for almost 400, but tbh I don't like the powermatic movement because of the lower tick rate, looks more like a quartz with the stutter.

Great watch, just wish the Mojito & Negroni’s were available.

I have the blue version, it's OK, I finder in general you get what you pay for with Seiko. White is a bit boring though IMO.

  • This is a great price. I have aspirations for the sarx055 sometime in the near future but this would fill I similar "dressy" function (plus they look great on straps).

  • +1

Thanks op, that watch looks so clean and awesome…must resist. 👍

    • +3

      Stay strong - don't buy a watch you don't love! :)

Is this watch shaken or stirred?

  • +2

I'm a simple man, I see a Seiko Cocktail watch and I upvote.

But seriously it is always a pleasure to wear a Cocktail Presage, can't go wrong when paired with a formal or casual-formal look. Some may be put off by the hardlex crystal, but it honestly doesn't bother me. Both my matcha Cocktail and frozen margarita Cocktail from Starbuy are still looking sharp after multiple wears.

    • +1

Hate to break it to you but that isn't the Frozen Margarita. Yours looks more like the "Ordinary" Margarita, unless it's just a terrible photo, hard to tell given the lighting

    • I loaded this up on my computer when I got home and can now see the blueish tint but I standby that it's still a terrible photo lol

Love the look of the watch but 40mm just looks so awkward on my wrist to me. I daily drive a Seiko Samurai (44mm) or a G-Shock Rangeman (55mm?) so maybe it's just me having become accustomed to larger watches but anything below a 42mm just looked weird lol.

    • This will wear larger due to it being all dial. Measure your wrist diameter and look at some wrist shots to get an idea of how it would wear on you.

  • Does anyone have any thoughts on the SSA423J/

    https://starbuy.com.au/seiko-automatic-mens-watch-ssa423j/

I prefer the look of the face but not sure if it's a good price or not.

  • It is great to see some people are still buying the real watch.
