  • Whats the best )cheapest) way to renew if we already with boost?

    • +3

Port out and instantly port back in or just chat with them (don't call)

    • +2

Chat with them on chat. I just got 140gb for $150.

      • You got it from boost itself by this price?

        • I bought $200 100gb recharge. Chat with them, get $50 credit back to my card, and an extra 40gb.

I did a chat before hand asking how I can get the deal new customers get. They told me to do what I listed.

          • @onlinepred: Ok so i can just buy online recharge like on this post from ebay and then chat? Wow this is amazing.

Oh… can't buy this starter pack but need to buy the recahrge. Am I right? And where to buy the recharge? Can we get discount on recharge?

            • @CyberMurning: I'd confirm that through online chat before trying it. Last year, I had one operator agree to it, and a second one who said it wasn't possible. This year I ported out and back.

            • +3

@CyberMurning: Like I said chat first and do what they said. I recharged through the boost website. Just save the chat when they say you can do it. Just say how it’s so much more expensive than when you signed up

    • Online chat said can just transfer your number if you get a new starter kit!

      • If you need the $200 plan, onlinepred method is cheaper than buying off ebay with discount code

      • +1

@HA yeah got the same thing from chat.
        have you done this before?
so we go buy new starter pack , when it arrive then activate / go straight to chat ?

        • I actually asked chat before I bought and the agent confirmed. Then chat again to activate

          • +1

@HA: Just done this method. Works. Easy. Online chat

            • @CyberMurning: Yep they were even happy to transfer existing leftover data of 20gb over !

              • @HA: whattt i had 50gb over :( well i guess its too late now
good think i dont think i will need more than 140gb a year anyway

                • @CyberMurning: Might be worth a try asking them now still.

                  • @HA: @HA
sometimes its difficult to get the chat windows appears.
                    https://boost.com.au/pages/get-help
and i just cannot see - and suddenly its there - any tips to get it out quickly ?

                    • @CyberMurning: I always start chatting to the robot online, then asking for someone to talk to.

                      • @HA: @HA
sorry didnt make it clear, i cannot see the chat windows at all, so i cant start even with the robot

  • Any other lower options available with similar discount? Probably one below this 300gb

  • Still no eSim ?

    • Nope

  • If on Telstra BYO plan, do I need to do anything special or just port as normal?

    • Would like to know the process also

    • -1

      See here:
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/574200

TLDR: it's probably best porting out to Optus or Vodafone prepaid and then porting to Boost

    • Boost is under Telstra network so you have to port out to either Optus or Voda and then port back in with Boost.

  • +1

Tried to renew via chat. They told me can't do it so I've just ported out to amaysim. $100 for 6 months but they give you 150gb. Can always circle back to boost later when I can be bothered dealing with them again

    • Cash rewards have $35 back on $150 plan with Amaysim 6 month plan. It's on special @$99 so would only cost $64. Decent deal.

      • Is amaysim on the Telstra retail network?

Edit: All good, found out it's Optus.

  • When you go with boost be aware that they can’t/won’t remove the voice to text option. You choose either voicemail or message to text. You’re stuck with it unfortunately.
I can’t wait for my boost sim to expire, never again.

  • +1

My current Boost plan ends on 21/03/2022. If I have to activate this SIM before 01/02/2022, does that mean I lose the 7 weeks between Feb 1 and March 21?

    • Yes, why would you do that? Lol

    • +1

the plan stacks on top of each other. you'll be using your first plan's data first from what i've experienced

      • +1

No, I don't believe that is right. A 365 day plan starts from the day it is activated. It is a stand alone plan and does not stack.

  • +2
    • only free shipping to NSW

  • tried online chat…person asked if I got a $50 promo email if I recharge…I said no..he said he will email his manager to see what can be done…have not heard anything since Wednesday last week…my plan expires today…

    • try another chat, and this time if they dont want to give 50 off ask about if you can buy new starter pack then get them to transfer the number later.

      • so funny thing is, I let it expire…Day 1 after expiry, I tried logging on via website and attempted a recharge…resulted in an "error"…Day 2, tried again…still "error"…Day 3, logged on, went to recharge option, no error this time….scrolled down to the 12 month expiry options…and viola! the $200 option showed a sale price of $150!!…

        • huh? mine showing $170 (not expired yet but soon) this is for the $200 plan yearly
well too late already bought the starter pack from one of the ebay seller $157.xx with ebayplus code (extra data total 140GB)
but if you buy from boost website you only get 100GB, right ?

  • 12mo prepaid expires 26 Jan. Got this SMS yesterday:

"get $50 off your next $200 recharge plus 30GB when you recharge using credit card or PayPal by 19 February. For use in Aus, within 12 mths."

    I guess I'll go again.

  • Does this work for Ex-existing customers?

  • "Activate before 01.02.2022 to get bonus additional 60GB"

Delivery: "Estimated between Thu. 3 Feb. and Tue. 8 Feb."

    Ooof….
